It's here!

Sunday lunch sounds good Scott, what time ?

Probs come in the car tho.... wouldn't want to show up the new bike if I came thru on the multi!;) :D

Just got an email from DG this second saying bike can be taken for a run at 1pm Sat & Sun with kind permission of the owner!
Get there sharp folks!;) :D

yer I got that one too, but seeing how badly it was built by old fat Italian housewives in that video I'm not sure I want to even see the bike now!!!! ;) :D

I got that one too.

Quite considerate of Martin to point out that it wouldn't do the bike any good to start it up but not ride it. Consequently I've got the 1:50 test ride slot on Sunday booked. Hope the hangover's gone by then as I'd hate to drop it or fall off. :)

Just been on to the boys back home in Liverpool........ the desmo will be in a lockup somewhere in Huyton by 2am friday morning....

You guys should've read the small print.

".......Test rides can only be permitted after the deposit of £60,000 into the kind owners bank account. And, if you bend it, you bought it. If you think you're even getting to touch it, you need to lay off the magic mushies."

:D

Just guessing here, but are you saying there will be no test rides Scott?

For anyone that's interested, there was a wee handover event last night at Ducati Glasgow.

The bike was started in the presence of the rest of the expectant owners who could attend.

It was a really great event, thanks Martin. An added bonus was the attendance by Alan Jenkins :hail:

Well I just want to say one word..... "WOW!!!!!!" I've been following the development of the DS16RR since it's inception and having been to several PR events around this bike last night at Ducati Glasgow not only being in the presence of Alan Jenkins and having a long chat with him not only about this bike, but the whole GP project plus riders and old, current and future bikes (road and race) are coming along and an indepth technical overview of the DS.

But the final realisation of a long dream became a reality last night when Martin turned the key, hearing the fuel pump prime, the dash leap into life and the petite (sheep in wolves clothing) sidelights twinkle brightly once the starter was pressed and the V4 engine literally roared into life, I don't say that lightly hearing is believing.... It's finally here, it's real... Ducati have made a GP Replica and £40,000 pales into insignificance once I heard this thing bark into life.

I know all 1500 have been sold but I also know a few have cancelled with the ongoing delay of getting this exercise from the drawing board to the road but if you get that kind of money together, sell a kidney or something just buy one just for the spine tingling noise alone.

Finally a big thanks to Martin forhosting the event last night, Alan for spending his time with everyone and last but not least Scott for letting both of us enjoy the start of a long awaited dream come true.

Looked like fun, I'd guessed your numberplate would be something like that. :)

...Alan Jenkins - Poet and author? ;)
