It is not a Privilege!

In line with my daily lodging of official complaints, I want to see if my mate was still insured fro my car, so he could drive back from the motorcycle show, next month.

It still says that there is an additional driver, but nowhere can I find his name - and he is not on the certificate of insurance!

I lent him the car for a weekend in March when I went to London, by train.

Eventualy, I have to phone, as their stopid robot can not make sense. I phone and ask where the name of additional driver is. I am told that there is NO additiional driver. Never happened and I am lying. So, why does it say, "Added Drivers 1?", I ask. No known reason. "We just like to get people into trouble with our shit service.

So that is another untrustworthy insurance company that it is not a privilege to deal with. Dishonesty now seems to be an integral part of the insurance industry.

Have you taken the trouble to actually read your insurance policy properly and what it says about drivers other than yourself?

Or is that too hard?

I searched through all the documentation that I have and could not find it. Then I tried their 'Live Chat' that was unhelpful, so I phoned them. The person that I spoke to was equally unhelpful and could not explain why it said, "additional driver 1", without giving a name. Then he told me that there was no additional driver. Either he is wrong, or I have been lied to.

Strangely enough, I don't take well to spending hundreds of pounds, with a company, in order to be lied to.

Weird, I know, but that's just me!

I find it hard to believe that your Policy document does not address the matter of adding an additional driver.

It is a very standard part of any car/bike policy.

Who is your insurer?

If your mate has insurance for his own car he is probably covered to drive yours with permission but only 3rd party - not too helpful here but he may not have broken the law in March

Jasus I'm going to say something I regret here... Even I don't think Everclear deserves that 🤷‍♂️
I am not asking for advice, but just ranting! It is probably a well known fact here (Howdy, Fact) that insurance companies expect you to be honest with them, but they think nothing of being dishonest with you. In my case ongoing with Hastings (I think it is) before finally admitting liability they tried on all sorts of shit, like denying I was riding the bike, denying the injuries, and denying it was their fault. It was only because I got the Police report blaming the other driver and recommending prosecution (six points for driving without due care, to which she pleaded guilty) plus I got all the medical notes from the point where the ambulance was called out.

It was only then, that they admitted liability, finally.

So I know that denial is in their DNA, so to insure somebody else on my car, under my insurance, without written proof of EVERYTHING like names, addresses, and age, ia basically a non-starter.

Once upon a time, when I was naive, I attempted to give Perry some advice in relation to his claim for damages.

I rapidly learnt that I may as well eat my own head. No chance of any legal advice from me, and I pity the poor soul who's door he may darken with a request for legal help.

You keep ranting... The last time you went quiet for a little bit here you got your door kicked in 👀👀

Just had a call back and they have closed my complaint as I do not understand English. Apparently, where it says "ADDED DRIVERS" that is me, as I am the added driver. I was told that the policyholder might not drive the car at all. When I questioned why somebody who never ever drives a car would insure it, I was told that if you could not drive for medical reasons, you would insure another family member as the driver, but you would have a perversion about insuring cars that you never ever drive in you policy. "ADDED DRIVERS" in plain English means (unless you believe that 1 + 1 = 1) that this is a driver in addition to the policyholder, who has a strange fetish of insuring cars that they never drive.

I am done with this shit and may not bother with the whole shit-show next year. If I do, it will certainly not be with Privilege.

As I will not insure my bike with Carry On Nashing, either, next year does not look like much fun.

Still off the gauge with this one.

Why say "ADDED" if you mean the TOTAL number of drivers allowed to drive the vehicle. It should say INSURED DRIVERS = 1 So if the mad policy holder never - or cannot drive the vehicle - it should say INSURED DRIVERS = 0 so that would suit a mad policy holder who does not drive!

I
accept that ENGLISH is no longer the first language of this country, but if you do use it, then you surely, surely, should use it correctly, Or it has been incorrectly translated from another language.

Strangely, I do see why you were confused as the wording is ambiguous.

I too hate the thought of renewal. Which is why I was so delighted that my Bennetts renewal sailed through without a glitch.
