I have stayed at a home stay in Foxdale for the past 15 years of the 33years I have being going to the TT. Its a farm house run by Gerry and Judith Vernon, really really nice people. Comfy rooms, enormous breakfasts and unlike many B&B's you can come and go as you please, they can't do enough for you. Its about a 5 minute ride from Ballacraine and accessable by the back road from Douglas so you never get caught out through the road closures. Excellent access to Peel, Castletown, anywhere in fact. The farm is off the main road but has a good drive way and secure parking. I went there in 1993 to see what home stays are like having got fed up with the razamataz of Douglas and the rip off prices. Their phone number is 01624 851657. I am missing the TT next year as it has all got a bit samey to me. All the bikes are either 600 or 1000cc Jap fours. They look the same, sound the same and are not much different in speed. I will be going to the Manx GP, far more my cup of tea, singles, twins, European bikes with some early Jap stuff which is very interesting. The clientele at the Manx is more of what I would call an enthusiasts gathering. But there again I am of a certain age and can remember Hailwood and Agostin racing.
Ahhh, them wer't days! Still doesnt stop me being daft on my S4RS though.
Growing old is inevitable but growing up is optional I say!!
Good luck, tell the Vernons David put you in touch, they will know who it is!
