There's now more in existence than were ever made.......
750 Sports were used initially and when they dried up 750 GT's although these are more difficult because the rear of the frame needs changing. As well as the heads.

There's lots of details wrong with this bike. I know that a lot of Bevel twins are heading back Italy for big bucks so why would this not be snapped up over there.....

I don't care if people make reps and declare them as such ( including Ducati themselves ) but fakes are a different matter.

I can't disagree with you though, having said that, it takes a well trained eye to see the kind of things you noticed. I was fooled, but I also have many references to these bikes and I've not seen many that are absolutely identical. (come to think of it, I haven't seen many bevels atall that are identical!!! :)

I'm sure I saw one with a Swiss connection being advertised somewhere a couple of months ago.
I heard a rumour that a well known name in Ducati circles may have been involve in "re-creating" SS's a few years ago.
As you say someone producing a replica is fine as long as they are honest about it.
Might be curious to check the frame/engine number to see if that matches up.
Will have a wee look at Ian Falloon's bible later to see. Still doesn't mean it is genuine though even if numbers correspond.
