It should be OK on a smooth track, the road is more of a concern as I only have 80mm of rear suspension travel, but that's similar to the twin shock bikes of that era.
This is interesting. It won't be the Nitron shock that restricts travel so did you need to put lock stops on to get it to 80mm.

Even then it will probably halve when you sit on it. ;)

I is Svelte, and yes it's the Nitron shock which decreases the travel as it designed for a mono-shock rising rate system which then amplifies the travel. The shock only has 50mm or so of travel and mounting angle then increases the travel again to around 80mm. I did ask Nitron if they would supply a longer shaft but they said no as their service is appalling!!! I was going to have one made by a mate but as the original bike was similar I left it for now.
I had to reduce the spring rate from around 560 ibs to 400 ibs which was calculated by my local Ohlins Tech when I gave him a diagram of the geometry.

I got a feeling it’s quite low price to insure as insurance is based on risk and history of the vehicle in question

If it was fireblade or R1 I’d say it was high risk but this bike is a one off with no black marks against it so I say it’s relatively cheap to insure

I said £300-£450 but it could be lower

Bikesure (Adrian Flux) have been back regarding my 2nd quote saying they need another day to quote as the underwriter needs to discuss the photo's I sent yesterday directly with some insurance companies 👀

My thinking is the risk of it being in an accident is low but in such an event it would be a rite off as everything is custom made so more to the expensive end?

Why are you thinking of insurance when you have another 15 years to go - and stop high jacking threads, start your own about insuring your anodised chugger tatty bracket monster 🤷‍♂️
Fake quote, I think my account has been hacked ! Did you used to work for the Post Office !

Hello, direct line?
Yes Sir, how can I help?
I want to report an accident whilst riding my motorcycle
Okay sir, I'll need to take some details first, where did the accident happen?
In the kitchen
In the kitchen sir?
Yeah in the kitchen, I was doing 35mph by the hoover when suddenly the dishwasher draw dropped down and I had to swerve to avoid it
Ok, I'll go with this for a moment, what happened next?
Well, I then had to avoid the dining table, the fridge freezer and the flip lid kitchen bin
Mmmm then what
That's when it got me
What got you sir
The microwave, bam, hit the door as it pinged opened which then forced me into the tumble dryer, it was carnage. Knives, spoons and woollens every where
click...brrrrrrr
Hello? hello?

I’ve voted £301-£450.

Looking forward to seeing what the quotes are coming in at and presuming the valuation is some sort of guaranteed valuation / payout.

Build is bloody amazing and wish I had the skill and patience to do something similar. I have adhd so can you imagine how difficult it was for me to even stay interested on the progress (but I took one for the team!). From experience Insurance companies are (insert appropriate negative perceptions or experience here) so expect some profiteering.

Must confess to replying after quite a few jars and on a train home so hoping this is even legible.

Who has the next build I should be playing close attention to???

But you don’t ride? 🤪

Brilliant Noobs, absolutely brilliant !! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So, all results are in! 👀

The initial quote from Footman James (which inspired the poll) for the KR on it's own was £332

My mutibike insurer (Bikesure) couldn't add it to my current policy (which was due for renewal tomorrow)
They have spent a day checking and sending photo's to different insurers and found one that would take the current mulitbike policy over for the Tesi and R1 for the same price as my renewal and an additional £155 for the KR which is fab 🥳🥳🥳 so I just went with them.

They could add the 1098R Bayliss for about £280 but the current policy which is separate and due in May was only £170 last year with zero no claims so keeping that separate.

All in all a lot better than I thought it would be which is nice...

Do you insure all the bikes regardless of being used or not?
