thanks to 239desmo for the pointer

They came up with a good deal,in my opinion, for my 916(which is am import though she said it made no difference) and also 900 Supersport project(aye,a ken, might be a bit optimistic since its still in many pieces).
Classic policy, unlimited miles(thats a laugh for the 916,barely moves),Breakdown from a mile from home europe wide,100k legal cover.
Multi policy all mods declared for £201.(I was £340 for 916 alone last year)
The only drawback is you don't use your no claims on the classic policy,so just as well I have a hack to insure then innit or I'd loose it after 2years.

Makes me wonder if the insurance companies just dream up a quote depending how business is going:confused:

I am £84 fully comp for the 900SSie and an extra £23 for legal expenses cover which is optional and if i add a 2nd bike to the policy its only an extra £20 per year, All this includes insurance premium tax. Dont know how that compares with anyone else but i am happy with it and thats from Devitt ( Direct Lines sister company):D

Sh1t,I might just hang fire then ! I was comparing it with what i paid last year for my 916 only.

Fully Comp with Direct choice (not Direct Line), 4 bikes, 916, 748S, 900SL, VFR800, with protected no claims, 3,000 miles/year each bike, foreign travel cover, all extras declared £154. It's definitely worth shopping around as most companies seem to have specific deals and worth phoning as well as using online comparisons, sometimes better deals if you can actually speak to someone and explain /discuss what you want

I've used Carole Nash & lately footman James as well as they came out cheaper for me and considered my 1993 900ss a classic!

The free breakdown cover on both makes them a good option in my opinion and both have always been very easy to deal with.

Colin, this isn't just a case of what premium you are paying it is making sure the Insurer KNOWS that it is an import.
You have been down this route before and came a cropper so make sure you get an acknowledgment IN WRITING in some form whether it is a letter from them or preferably you retain a copy of the proposal form or statement of fact which clearly shows on that it is an import.
Keep that somewhere safe and in event of a claim if there is any question raised then you have proof.
Without this it could be the word of you against them.
Premiums and service vary in much the same way as buying a bike although a lot of folk can't see past the bottom line and then wonder why problems arise in event of a claim.
The old adage about paying peanuts should be borne in mind! ;) :)

Cheers Stewart, they were supposed to phone me back today (well Wednesday) but haven't,I've a couple of weeks yet....detest with a passion troll:mad:ing round them all .

usually get mine from mce insurance.best to get quote at scottish bike show if you can. last year beat my reminder by £79 cause it was a "show price"

They're Sheisters. I recently renewed a car insurance. Renewal quote was £40 approx higher than last year. I knew if I 'phoned them only I could get it dropped, but went through the rigmarole of the comparison sites, & called 4 of them. I got it for about £100 less than the renewal quote. When I called up the existing insurer to say I was cancelling, they said they would match what I'd been quoted.
Well maybe if they'd quoted £100 less in the first place.......

A word of warning: On my renewal from Adrian Flux in small print at the bottom of the page it says they will deduct the remittance from my credit card 3 days before the due date.
I didn't read "3 days", my credit card direct debit was due on the same day, & I missed going into overdraft & a £35 bank charge by a matter of hours.

Something I learned from a 'money saving' website is the option of taking a separate Legal Cover policy. Most brokers charge £20+
A separate can be had for £10 or under.

They're Sheisters.

Yer right...
Question.....why does just about everyone of them have a contact email for quotes/queries etc(not the online fixed form) I have emailed a half dozen all my details of my requirements, can't stand phoning them, and not one has replied or phoned me on a my suppiled number.....f*ckers make too much money ,they don't need to go replying to emails I guess.:mad:
