Easter weekend my Ducati died of clutch death and is still at the menders

The following weekend my XJR1300 died of bloody great piece of metal thru back tyre death and i cant afford a new tyre

Today me and my passenger damn near soiled ourselves after over taking two cars on a long wide straight road in Lincolnshire in my car only for the fan belt to snap and rendering the brakes and steering useless, its also automatic!. Its now at the menders.

Now i am on foot :(

So, who wants a

I can sell you a good mountain bike!

OK @@@@ happens but they say trouble comes in threes - the rest of the year should be great...........!

What size tyre does the XJR take? I have a worn but still legal rear off my 996 - 190/55/17 michelin pilot you can have for nowt. I was saving it for just that sort of rainy day.......but yours if you want.

Its my own fault, on a previous thread after my Yam got the flat i said something like these things happen in threes  :banghead:

Cheers Pete, I hope so

its a 180 something on the back, probably be ok but my local shop ordered me some kit a while back, i rang em today and its still not arrived so ive told to cancel it and put me a tyre on and ill make up the difference. thanks anyway tho, i really appreciate the kind offer.

yes almost forgot mine's a pint of lager! Why is the clutch taking so long then? Even a new master cylinder or slave cylinder and bleed is only an hours job by anybody's reckoning. Clutch plates a lot less - what are they playing at? And it's a warranty job isn't it?

yep its a warranty job thankfully, new clutch slave master cylinder was on order from italy but their computers were down! didnt know ducati made computers :D

Ducati leeds have put a performance part instead but whilst they had the bike i asked them to replace the coolant tank as it was still leaking coolant. that should be arriving today or tomorrow.

To be honest ive got tons of college work to catch up on, IF i get the bike back and have made some progress i might just make it.

or sense of priorities....if the exams aren't within a week then carry on.

if they are within a couple of days start the run in and do some work.

if they are tomorrow - sod it, it's too late now.

I know I hated that attitude among my students when I had my more responsible job, but hell, that's what we did and it never really harmed us!

OK strategy for partial success here.

Hand in the overdue one now, after a little tidying. That way at least it's submitted, even though it may not be the best stuff. Ask when you can resubmit a revised version - it may be possible. Then you have a full three weeks to do the second one and make it a belter. Conscience eased and problem part solved.

If that fails just cheat and buy one off the internet - but you didn't hear that from me........

and come riding Sunday!

you can't beat a bit of plagiarism (sp?) can you :D Like a muppet i wrote a 2k word piece and forgot to note the sources  Needs a bit of tidying, its already been proof read but i need to reference it and do a bibliography to that feckin Harvard Referencing system standard :(

10/10 for your spelling anyway! Good start. I remember doing my Masters, circa 40k words, then the refs, etc. Logical so long as you do it religiously from the beginning.

Seems like you have a little problem now but you will solve it with luck and a bit of sweat. That also illustrates what I mean though, get it handed in now, get a slapped wrist for the lack of refs, but get the mark and move on. If the refs are important add them later.

And, seriously, if you want it proof reading, email it to me and I will do that for you. Can't obviously verify the content or any arguments but I'm pretty good with the rest of it. 25 years in teaching , to degree level, has had some benefits!

Then come riding SUNDAY!
