Huge huge thanks!!!

Lily

Pink Totty
Wanted to say a big thanks to MartinH for driving all the way down to me tonight to sort out the problem with my bike.

A top fella make no mistake especially as i gave dud directions and he spent an hour stuck in traffic!!

But Bob is working with a short term fix and should hopefully be sorted in full tomorrow.

Thanks so much Martin!!!

Thanks also go to all those that offered advice in the other thread and to Alan for also offering to come and help.

Glad you have got Bob sorted Lily.

am still working on AK to move Norf! can you all work on him at the Oulton trackday in July?;)

C:)

well done Martin and Alan, so who's going to enlighten us on what the problem was?? I want to know if my guess yesterday was right :D

That's great Lily. Was rather hoping you would come round and offer cookies in exchange for the multimeter.

It would appear that it was indeed both Jon's and my first thoughts and the sidestand switch. We are still a bit confused as to how or why it can be having this impact as it has a bypass on it so theoretically it should still work.

The guess is that the bike started at Gizmo's as we had not put the sidestand down then when i took it off paddock stand on Sunday to do some fiddling the roatation must have damaged the internals somehow where it was ground down by the tarmac :(

Current fix involves a paperclip and some gaffa tape!!

On a general note though, Martin discovered part of my confusion in the fact that my solenoid looks different and that I don't have a white connector that everyone kept telling me to look for (it's no wonder i was getting confused... :D )

Would have been a top option but for the fact I am so stressed and busy that baking cookies has been moved down the list of priorities.

Working in Birmingham most of the time at the moment so doing 13 - 14 hour days then having to drive to Warrington and sort bike before coming home and cooking dinner/doing housework etc... i am pooped!!

It was no problem, I quite enjoyed my afternoon out to be honest. Was glad Bob was up and running so you can do Oulton on friday. Got home in about a third of the time it took me to get to you. Jct 20 my Arse!

Came home reheated my dinner about 10pm and settled down to watch Lost, saw 5 minutes of it and the next thing I'm waking up on the setee at 3am with the dog licking my face and a note from Lisa telling me both dogs need a walk. Took em over the field and sure enough they buggered of after a fox, by the time I got them back it was 4am and I was wide awake.

Apologies for keeping you and Jon talking for so long last night. Once I get started theres no stopping me!

I think between the three of us there was plenty of chatting!!

Many thanks again Martin and sorry about the directions, the warmed up dinner and the late night, if it's any consolation lost wasn't that great last night!!

I was more worried about how jittery you were without a cigarette and when you'd found them in the car you seemed so relieved! :p

At the time it crossed my mind that it would have been a good time to quit. Think I managed from 5 to about 8.20pm without one. Course then I accidentally found a packet with 3 in and smoked them in quick order. My blood nicotine level was soon back to its normal level. Got the old Jag up to its speed limiter on the last section of the M65 knowing fags were for sale at the petrol station at the end.
