I'll do my best!!

They've organised some practice runs for me in the morning so I can get a feel for the taxi way, apparently it's really bumpy in parts!! :eek: :eek:

Also the weather looks totally sh1t for tomorrow, rain from west to east over the course of the day.
That'll be fun -

Why not chuck your track bodywork at it tonight, will be a great advertising opp IF it does get filmed ? Mind you taking that headlight unit off is a right @@@@ of a job !

I meant advertise Ducati Glasgow instead of Xerox, not put it down the runway, Martin would you show your face in public again if you binned it on a straight runway ;)

I thought about the DG fairing off me own bike but it's still a bit second hand after Valencia, i'm still using it but it doesn't look quite as good as it could (on one side):(

I thought the Xerox would be good for the TV coverage!:thumbs:

:) Well folks, just got back to the store with weeian.

What a fantastic day out and guess what.............

Had two races against the jets and won both of them!!!:hail: And we have pictures to proove it there are any doubters out there.:)

The 999R Xerox behaved beautifully and ran like a dream!!

It turned out to be over 1/2 mile not just the standing quarter, the jet passed me in the air and I was reading about 165 on the clock!:eek:

In the practice runs before hand, I had the R right off the clock above 180mph!!

We'll get the pictures posted as soon as we can get them done, there's even some video footage!

A nice part of the day was getting to go up the runway riding shotgun in the Aston at 175mph, that was really something!

At the end of the day in the officers bar where the pilots took us for a beer, they told us how impressed they were with the bike, just an incredible day out. I could tell they were a bit gutted, but they took it well.:)

Keep an eye out for the pictures very soon, but got to dash now, bit late getting home and going to a stag do tonight!!:beer: :beer:
 
LOL, bl*ody great bloke! I F*ckin' 'ate yer you jammy B*stard! Bet those flyboys were sick as pigs! I reckon drinks are on you in the virtual bar!!! ;) :) :D
 
Well what can i say ?

Martin Did us proud ! Today was the absolute stuff of dreams. (like somthing out of Top Gear)

Set off at 9:30am in the Van with the Xerox in the back, followed by a Silver

Ferrari 360 Spyder then we met up with another car, an Aston Martin

Vanquish S :eek:.

Got to RAF Leuchars at around 11am for some strict security clearance, the

base was only open to Families of servicemen.

so after we got our passes we headed to our holding pen which was right

next to the RunWay. Lined up the Contenders & let everyone have a look at

the Vehicles for an hour while All the drivers got briefed on the rules,

(meanwhile i nicked over to the free BBQ & Bar).

By 12:30 Martin had clearence for a few practice runs which were alot of fun

to watch for all. . . . the bike was passing no more than 15 metres away at around

175 - 180mph, the noise off the ferrari was awsome as was the Vanquish,

but my personal favourite was definetly the Termi's passing by at 180mph

(most of the spectators prefered the bike sound) even when the bike was 500

metres away coming off the throttle you could hear the Termi's Booming on

the over run like they were right next to you.


Then came the main event & martin headed down the the start line

overtaking a Tornado Taxi ing(sp?) to the run way (got into trouble for that 1

but was really funny)

Race 1: Tornado vs 999r

at this point its between 1/4 & 1/2 a mile & the plane is just taking off !

aww ffs i just blew the fuse in the Digi Camcorder so your gonna have to wait for the movie !

Got TONNES of more pictures - ill upload them later as ive got a terrible headache coming on because of the noise off the jets.

Ill continue the Story later !
