I'm supposed to be setting off for a beano weekend in the lakes at 6pm this eve. Driving from Harrogate, skipton, kirby lonsdale through to keswick. Anyone tell me what the weather is doing that way The news seems to be saying that another ice age has hit. Am I stupid to set off or is it ok and just a little nannying to protect us from out own stupidity.
Cheers Sticky:beer:

Crack on, roads are fine here bit of snow falling, temp stuck around 2.5 degs roads wet, thats North side of Kendal, cars coming from the North have snow on them but no reports of badness on Radio Cumbria. It seems the East of the country hit worst so you have the best route - A66 closed at Scotch Corner and Brough so Stainmoor hit bad.

We're about 20 miles from Keswick and it's wet and windy - good news is the snow has stopped and the wind's dropped from gale force to just bloody windy :)

Last time I ventured out the car was indicating 2.5 degrees, combined with the wind it's blummin freezing but roads are ok around here - although I hear the A66 is closed due to snow.

Hope that helps.

keep away from the hill tops & you'll be fine.
Not quite the right area but the snow has turned to rain @ Hexham

Just remembered, A591 (Thirlemere )has been shut overnight for the last few weeks for tree clearance - you may have to pick up the M6 to Penrith then West on the A66, not sure what time is closes, if indeed it does at weekends ?
