Guess the rush is over now?

Freak

Is it still summer?
Just been to Ducati Mcr, not been since the classic bikes from earlier in the year and there are plenty of 749/999's in the showroom but also 4 1098's, 2 1098S, 1098 and a Tricolore (thought all those had gone??) plus 4 HM's one being the S which were always like hens teeth.

You can buy anything at all these days off the shelf.

I even saw a Porsche GT2 and a GT3 RS the other day. 5 Gallardo in one place. All off the shelf. It would appear that everything is on offer except an R8!

A mate of mine has just made a quick £10k on an R8 by being one of the first on the list and selling on to someone desperate for one. Nice work if you can get it!

Pardon my ignorance but whats an R8? ( and don't say and R6 plus 2 R1's:D )

Can't be bothered to google R8 just to hide my ignorance

Seen 1 R8 on the road in the midlands, it passed me in my car on a quiet stretch of Dual Carraige way nr Halesowen  and

R8 was following me through Quensferry on Saturday.
May well have 187 top end but seemed poo on acceleration in my mirrors.

Seen a few of the A5's now, they have the same LED light thingys at the front and look well, A bit more affordable in say 10 years too :(

I'd think most dealers now have stock, they have to order bikes so early with lead times at 3/4 months and guess at what they'll sell its inevitable supply eventually outstrips demand :( when bikes are short one customer can end up ringing 3 or 4 dealers trying to find a bike and they all think they may have a sale. They think demand is high when its probably the same customers :(.

Add in a factory keen to maxiise sales and they'll ramp up production not realsing they'll end up stopping it a few months later. As Ducati cut model lines you'll see more of this happening, if you've got other models to make you can swap production, with a limited range you just have to cut it.

VAG have done a good job in recent years of not getting into this trap, TT, R8 all have fixed production levels and you'll wait for cars, even the Golf is on a a 3 month order time for a standard spec TDi Match ( or Linzi's new one is :D))

Wait till the economic downturn really hits and you'll see a lot more high end motors more readily available :(

Been in to Ducati Leeds today for some bits (fairing fasteners and a Corse calendar) and a chat. Derek and Charlie were good company as always, they seem to have had a good time so far this year in terms of sales. Both quoting encouraging numbers. A couple of 1098's and a HyperMotard around, plus the usual mix of older 748/996/999 stuff.

Notice that there is a plethora of 999R's appeared on fleabay in last 24 hours.
End of season clearout?

If you Google for the film I-Robot and Audi you'll see the concept car they made for this film which looks incredibly like the R8
