Couple of miles from home today and at a small-ish roundabout (reet on the roundabout) hugged into the kerb was young lad and fella starting an aprilia 125 learner (race style nicey nicey). Neat looking bike but obviously in bit of trouble.
I skirts round and comes about past em to park safely a bit further up next to a M900 grey monster..
Not 1 car was stopping or giving way and everyone seemed more intent on getting past this inconvenient obtrusive pair of bikers.
Runs across to em and the fellas got the bike started so we push it pronto across the lanes to a more safe position in a hatched line area - 1 elderly guy in car waving us past safely.
Turns out the lad (the son) had a new set of cans on and set of foam filters and when he was letting the revs down it was stalling, then he was getting stressed trying to restart it, then more stressed cos he's in traffic.
Thankfully he was being followed by his dad on the Duke.
Thanks all round and asked about the duke. He said he bought it I think from sister/in-law and rode it back from GlenGarry(?).
So, anyone from here sell it (to a someone from Cheshire)? If so, it's looking good and being looked after.
I also mentioned Ducati-upnorth, to which he said he didn't get to ride out with other duke riders cos they seemed a bit 'offish' and clique-ish (baring in mind I was on the ktm and not the duke)- which I couldn't understand in the least.
