When you buy vehicles over there do you call your agent and provide the info when you get the vehicle and take care of paperwork after? Or do you have to have paperwork when you pick it up? Do you have personal agents?

For insurance? It depends what type of insurance you're after.

Through teh business we deal with brokers (agents) because of the complexities and time needed to shop around individually.

For private matters like car, motorbike or home insurance that is usually done more directly, and use a service like gocompare.com to get multiple rates.

For a vehicle you need insurance to drive, ride or even park it on a public road - that must be in place beforehand.
 
Also if your vehicle has an MOT and Road Tax but no insurance you will recieve a letter informing you that you must either insure it or declare it off road. If you fail to do either of the above you can be fined. Even if the vehicle is stripped down being repaired
