Not bad for an old girl.

Still not got any decent pics yet. Ray Petty has been looking after it for me.

God it’s a lovely thing

I can understand why you are asking it is crying out to be ridden.

Firstly, I was a little caught out by the collection date from Belgium, after nearly 2 yrs, much earlier than I’d anticipated… (in retrospect thank goodness, have you seen the £-€ exchange rate lately!)

Secondly it’s just been completely restored using OEM parts where necessary and I want to ride it not just store it.
(Incidentally, the seller bought truckloads of bevel parts in the 90s, at least 3 dealers stocks when they were, comparatively, cheap.)

For it to be a rider, it needs some minor work all of which will be reversible back to original, with parts carefully stored.

It has the original Scarab brakes which are shite, so I am replacing these with similar period alternatives.
Some minor work to the wiring - putting in a relay to give the switches an easier life, and a modern fuse box, as the old bullet fuses rattle about somewhat.

Ray will also give it a thorough going over and produce a critical report on it, orginality/ engineers report/ value etc.
He will MOT it for good measure, although not strictly necessary as I’ll apply for historical status and exemption from MOT with the NOVA process.

When I dropped it off at Rays, I knew he had a lot of work on and so was happy for him to look after it for me until it’s done.

And thirdly, if it couldn’t be ready early doors, which was pretty obvious, I’ve since had minor surgery on my knee, so riding is out for a bit.

So all things considered, I’m in no hurry.

Oh and I’ve already declined two very handsome offers for it. Did I say that it’s a stunner
