Off to Tenerife tomorrow so I took today off too, chucked the daughter in nursery and set off to give the 1098 a squirt seeing as it hadn't turned a wheel since the trip to the T.T
Headed off through Rivington, Darwen and over to Longridge and Clitheroe and back via the same route and finished off by a visit to Ducati Manchester for a snoop and a bacon butty.
Whilst there Chris threw the keys to the demo Street Fighter at me and told me to take it for a blast - blimey!!, I'd only planned on taking it out for 30mins and ended up rolling back in after a about 3 hours........
Having had the Hyper out in previous months, I can honestly say that I think Ducati have definatley shot themselves in the foot as far as Hyper sales are concerned - anyone who takes the Streetfighter out after trying the hyper will definately only make one choice.
The S/F went like a banshee (even if low-geared), turned on a sixpence, stopped like it had an anchor from the Titanic and tipped in well. The back wheel was planted to the floor and talk about wheelies.........jesus does it wheelie.
I had to laugh when I brought it back, Chris was there with arms folded and a punter waiting for a test drive; he knocked the back pegs up for the rider and I butted in quick as a flash...'put them back down Chris, you need to stand on them to make a good do of the wheelieing' - his face was a picture.
Oh well, I've just got to work on the missus now to run a parrallel budget to our wedding fund for a purchase !!
Thanks Chris, you're a star !!
