Two weeks ago I bought a GSXR11 slingshot fuel tank.
The tank was one of those rare beasts that never come up for reasonable money and ones that do are prety much fresh out of the north sea.
This one wasn't, and it had all its furniture on it.
The seller sent it foolishly through the ebay shipping service that involves Packlink doing the handling and handing it to MyHerpes.
Packlink who the seller used to do the deal basically are the middleman owned by ebay and passed it on to Hermes.
Roll on a week and the parcel never arrived. The Herpes tracking information was still showing as "out for delivery with the courier", whereas the ebay tracking clearly shows "damaged not delivered".
On complaining to the Herpes Hollybot - because buggered if you're speaking to a human, said that it was a packlink tracking number take it up with them.
packlink basically didn't want to know, being one of those nice companies that our glorious .gov has allowed to trade into the uk from spain and therefore not accountable to anyone or anything.
On emailing Packlink, Packlink website says that the tracking number isn't one of theirs, and on emailing them they reply saying that it was the seller who should be chasing them up not me as my email is not linked to the order.
After doing some digging and them appearing on ripoff britain, its clear I nor the seller will ever see that tank again.
Its fine, we'll just file the dispute and I'll get my money back, but I feel for him as he's lost my money and his tank, my friend had a similar incident with them selling a pair of ski boots, which through the same channels went missing.
Speaking to our local Hermes Lady today when she delivered the shite 1100 rear shock I bought to slave the build up with, she said that he friends had sold through the ebay packlink thing and funnily enough Packlink + drop off + ebay = lost.
On the subject of the tank, and its ongoing saga, She pointed out that if its one of the prohibited items it never gets forwarded or retuned to senders or even sender notified - just dumped to one side at the depot.
Her thought was that if it was labelled petrol tank on the contents some burger flipper down at one of the depots would have seen the word petrol and 2+2=5.
hence it showing on the tracking info as "damaged". Some fuckwit opened the box realised there wasn't petrol in there (got pissed off as he's got to pay for his own fuel), and now that's been dumped in the big "help yourselves to whatever you like at the end of the week" pile.
Either way its lost, the buyer rightly fucked off, has refunded me.
I put a best offer in on another one - and for 15 quid more he accepted - I'm hoping that it's not corroded inside. I said to him that I'd happily pay extra for a decent courier to send it and avoid shitlink and herpes.
To add insult to injury, I thought I'd finally got through to a complaints form only to find it was a reskinned spambot form harvesting information for some Vegas website called Pissed consumer and now my complaint is up there for all to see on their stinking site - which is no bad thing but they also have harvested data, so I fully expect willy pills and phone calls to come flooding in soon. They refuse to delete the profile created as well - despite a week of requesting so that made my piss boil even more.
Even herpes own IT can't detect a sleeping malware hidden in plain site on their own servers and website.
So...
I thought I'd post up a warning and a plea to say never use them as they're shit.

lots of cases on there should anyone seek to challenge / take them to the small claims court. I even offered to pay the small claims court fees if the seller wanted to take this option up and submit an action against Herpes.
Packlink are registered in Spain so avoid tax and any contact anyway the scamming tossers.
If you've fallen foul of their practices and lost something I suggest taking them through the small claims as the more people that take them to the small claims court and win the more they might buck their ideas up especially if other costs are added on.
By the look of it Herpes always try to go down the mediation route - everyone who's kept their nerve and followed through has pretty much won.
When sending I always send stuff as "used spare parts" or " used motorcycle spare parts" I think that's safest.
