I've used Ducati Insurance for quite a few years, always been impressed by the service and yet again today they proved just how good they are.
I renewed in March, 2 bike policy, removed Smart last month and got a small refund, bought a new GSA at the weekend and was offered a 5 day free cover with Allianz, tried to call to set it up today spent hours waiting to get through to someone who "couldn't help cos there was no-one there that dealt with that" OK, I cant be arsed either so I'll just forget about 5 days free (its only a scam to get you on their database and make life easy for dealer) and sort out me cover note with Ducati Insurance.
Call them and give new value and new model and get a "wow, thats gone up a bit £109 for remaining time on risk on policy with an original premium of £192", I breath deeply by which time he's come back with "give me a minute, I'll see if we can move it with same underwriter and get it down without a new policy" lots of clicking later, he's managed to move it and take it down to £50 extra not bad considering value of bike and fact its 4 years newer. great says I, "but I need a cover note emailing to the dealer immediately so they can get it registered", I give them email address and ask when it'll be done, hear my phone bleep with incoming email and its there. The salesguy at the BMW dealer couldn't believe it. he'd got all he needed within an hour of of asking me for it most of which was wasted calling the BM insurers!.
I know its the way things should be but all too often it doesn't work like that and whilst we all complain about bad service in this instance I did feel they'ed gone that little bit further trying to help, gets my recommendation anyway, think I know who I'll be insuring with on renewal even if I dont have a Ducati
