About 3 weeks ago all seemed to be going a bit t1ts up with the DSC, but I've not been near the internet since then. Can anyone give a summery of what happened ?

I lost interest in it all. I still look in everyday but dont really read the 'political' stuff. Its a shame because it was a great club.

A brief synopsis - After a number of calls for an egm were refused the website became the public battleground, the MT then closed the forum and at that point almost everyone had no choice but to stop visiting. 3 members of MT then resigned and there is an EGM called for 6 September to try and resolve the situation. One would hope they can move forward but its possible that the damage caused by closing the forum is irreparable, most users have already found new places to frequent and I know the traffic on here has increased in last few weeks.

it was a good club when there was little else around unfortunately the "market" has moved on and if it is to survive the DSC really does need to change and adapt (as do all old school clubs) and the direction taken over the last few years was not the way to go.

That's not anti DSC before I'm accused of it! I still believe paying clubs have a place in the Ducati community and as such want to see it survive.

I think that's a fair comment Mike, evolve or die is the order of the day. A club is no different from any business, "customers" habits change.... miss the signs at your peril.

Thank you for the update Mike.

I just wish they would hurry up and get things sorted out as the current behaviour and attitude is detrimental to the name of Ducati. I wouldn't be in the least surprised if their official status was withdrawn. What marque wants to be associated with a club where in-fighting and threats of legal action seem to be the most popular topics and the 'Management Team' don't appear to either listen to or represent the members.

I wonder how this will affect the desmodue racing? they might be the only members left soon the way things are going

I doubt it will Steve, DD is a big money spinner for New Era (who effectively run the series) the DSC oversee's it. If the DSC folds New Era will still want to run the series and with 50+ race bikes out there there are people with some hard earned £££ invested to keep the racing going.

That's excellent as you would no longer have to be a DSC member to race in it and it may attract more people wanting to enjoy the racing :)

Excuse my ignorance but who are New Era? I thought the racing was run by DSC?

New Era run and manage a lot of the different classes and smaller race series around the country.

New Era cater for all Classes of Riders & Machines, including 125, 250, Formula 400, Formula 600,Formula 125, Singles, Sound of Thunder (Twins, Triples, Classic, Forgotten Era) L.C's, TZR's,Honda CB500's & Hornets, Open Superstock pre 1987 fourstroke racing machines, Pro-BikeOpen (475-750 2 stroke and 701-1300cc 4 stroke machines - excluding Formula 600 machines),Suzuki 650cc twins. Plus KTM 660 Plus Ducati Owners Club Series Plus ACU SuperMono and Dunlop Motostar Championships and the British 250 Championship.

Interesting that it says...plus Ducati Owners Club not Ducati Sporting Club!

More and more confusing.

Does that mean you can be a member of DOC but not DSC and still compete?
