On the trackdays page it says

The DOCGB a two dayer?? Hottrax and the DOCGB just gives the date as a one dayer on 23rd July.

DSC track attacks
No date confirmed for 2007??

see Sticky threead of 24th April.

PS hottrax have dropped the price to less than £90 for the DOCGB day on 23rd July.

Thanks Ray, the main website is out of date, I don't get time to update it :( Just keeping the index page up to date with what's going on is getting to be a problem :( I'll be making a decision on what to do with it before carrying out a major update but in all likelihood I'll probably end up just keeping the tech section and archive and doing the rest via the forum. Claire is starting on the trackday calendar now which will be a lot more use.

T'was a single day on the 23rd in the end. Hottrax had to open the event up due to 'lack of interest'.

So, how about a MOCUK/DOCGB/DSC combined trackday (two days?) next year. Save a lot of bollox in the long run, and we can fill it with Ducati's, instead of sharing with daft arse's trying to prove a point on fully kitted GiSXeR's and ZXR's, when a lowly road tyre shod, road trim 1995 900SS sails round the outside of them in the wet!

with 3 clubs should it be a 3 dayer ?

regardless i think its proberly a good idea greater numbers for greater stability/buying power/influance

and get to meet other people outside of the 'normal' club

its a great idea Ains, make it a 2 dayer at a decent track like Donnie, get Duc UK to support it and make it an event any Duc owner would want to attend either to watch or take part in.

I read somewhere that the DSC day was going to be opened up to any Ducati, its seems that all the clubs are finding it tough to fill the days this year for some reason and it would make perfect sense to have a Ducati only inter club / site day / 2 dayer, as you say at somewhere like Donnington or Oulton maybe, although I do love Cadwell !

I won't be riding the DSC day but hope to be there all of day 1 and till about lunchtime day 2 ( or when I sober up )

To add - Assen and the Ducati Club Nederland really have got it sorted, for the UK to pull off an event like the Dutch Club Races would be amazing !

sorry folks I have been a bit distracted recently and not cracked on with the trackday calendar. I will try and get it all up to date early next week. If I haven't started on Tuesday will someone please give me a nudge to remind me.. :o

DUK support all three trackdays, DOC, UKMOC and DSC by bringing some bikes to thrash.

All three are run quite differently, DOC use a commercial TDO, UKMOC is personally underwritten financially by the UKMOC head Honcho, and the DSC is run by the club not a TDO using members as instructors and has a strong social side.

In practice all three invite each other eventually:)

Not done the monster day but done DOC (this year) and DSC many years and there are some significant organisational differences that would need to be sorted i.e. Finance, TDO or not, etc.

Be interesting to see if the DD hooligans could keep up with a pack of 250 singles  :)

DUK also take bikes to some MSV days at Brands IIRC

DUK have run their own days in the past don't think they do now, I remember the last I did very clearly, Silverstone.......9th September 2001.

And UKMOC and DOC struggled to fill their days. not many Ducatisti really are that bothered about trackdays and a lot of those that are have got DD bikes now, the clubs need to adapt to the changing world around them, what worked in the past doesn't now and its a huge financial gamble to underwrite a day. the logistics are easily sorted, 3 clkubs underwrite 1/3 each, off the same number of places out to members, put in a cut off date when any unsold places pass to the other clubs. Split the track sessions or go open pit lane on one day.

Personally i won't do a trackday at Cadwell, its lack of facilities, poor track layout and lack of reasonable accommodation around it are not what I'm into, i'd prefer to pay a few quid more and go to a decent circuit like Donnie.

There are a lot of Ducati owners that are not members of any club so seems the sensible route to go down, 3 or 4 clubs work out two days for next year at Donington (nice and central) and offer the places to their own first and any left go to other Ducati owners. If their are still a few places left, their are other Italian owners to offer places to. Give Steve a chance to show of his new purchase!

It would be more attractive if we could guarantee getting a discount on standard trackday fees for a group booking such as described. Yes, I know the overheads are the same, etc, but it would make more people more ready to participate. Perhaps DUK could help with negotiating a discount? It would surely be in their interest to have mass participation, captive audience, etc. The UKMOC one coming up was at full whack (Oulton?) and they struggled to fill it. Then the invite went out to all dooks, still not filled, so joe soap and his mates will now be accepted. It would be interesting to know if later entries were any cheaper? Just a thought.

DSC Membership = £20
No-Limits Discount for DSC members = 10%

Not sure about this year but the Cadwell 2 dayer with the DSC last year was about £180 I think, that is the same price as 1 day at Oulton, in reality the simple fact is that you will not please all the people all the time, DSC days run to No-Limits rules. Also I think the UKMOC day at Mallory is a No-Limits style event so should be a cracker !

No point in looking then if you're with DuN? After the hassles (not going into here) with DSC and concerns about DOC the memberships are not worth much IMO.

DuN DSC, DOCGB, UKMOC, Ducatisti.co.uk does it matter that much which group you "belong" to?

If you wanna do a trackday why not try and pick one where the majority if not all the bikes are Ducatis and the day is supported by DUK?

If you have to join a particular group to do then so be it. You might even find that theres more value than the price of the membership to be had:eek: :D

No one at the MV day at Cadwell Thursday 16th of August then?

Ray.

Not wishing to get into a general discussion again (and we're going off topic here) but tried the club thing and didn't find much happening. DSC was scary and DOC didn't really happen. I met one decent guy from either, did a rideout with each, and that's not a lot really. Shame but there we are. DuN suits a lot of people very well. Sorry, just my experiences.

humm i think all the club type meets ive been to have involved big distances to attend and as such have put me off slightly (dsc in perticular for some reason)

for this reason i still knock about with a local club for local people ;) (but again is somewhat spazmodic in events /attendance)

i dont think Terry of ukmoc president fame will be up for bankrolling another trackday next year , though i think there is still some interest from a lot of the members , id say that other clubs trackdays dont get much of a mention on the ukmoc forum and people are left to investigate the other clubs themselves

and as such there are a few people who use all the forums and you cant escape then :p
