Distance to empty

This is a subject that's been spoken of before and I have to be honest and admit that I'm only posting this to gloat :lol2:
I filled up today, the first time since Fort William last Saturday at the Masher.
15.5 litres after 196 miles. That's 12.6454 miles/litre = 57.54 mpg. The tank is 21 litres and I've managed to put 20.5 into it when the bottom was hardly covered so it would be fair to say that there was 5 litres left, giving me a distance to empty of 259 miles.
Admittedly for the first 40 miles or so on Sunday I was taking it a bit cannier due to the wet but none-the-less that's a pretty respectable mileage.

Ive put 1 tank full of fuel in the 749 this year and it still hasn't run out....:flash:

Am trying to work out where you are putting it.....unless the bikes not been out much??????

Iv'e lost count of my trips to the garage for fuel.................

I usually get about 90 miles from the 12 litre tank before the fuel light comes on (then another 3 litres will do me 30miles in panick mode) = 7.5miles per litre = 34mpg.
Yet I always ride with the mpg monitor on the 749 dash and try to keep it between 40-50mpg. And thats without accelerating hard going up through the gears......go figure????
