Dating certificate

I’m led to believe I’ll need a dating certificate to confirm the date of manufacture of my bike in order to apply for a V5. The bike is a Monster S4R and was imported from Japan. I have the title document but it doesn’t state the year of manufacture. The date of manufacture can be identified from the VIN (2004 in this case) but I’m told the DVLC won’t accept this. Anyone suggest Where can I get a dating certificate from?

A dealer I would think, it will show on the Ducati System against its Chassis Number 🤔

The Ducati Owners Club (GB) offer a machine dating service, which should be in a form that's accepted by the DVLA.
It's a free service for members, £30 for non members.
However, annual membership fee is also £30 per year so you could enjoy one years membership which includes machine dating.....see 'docgb.org' for more info.
I think you can also contact Ducati directly for this information.
HTH.

Thanks all. I’ll try my local dealer, if no joy I’ll give the owners club a call 👍
You’d think the VIN would be evidence enough for the DVLA as it clearly states the date of manufacture 🙄
