Cool 😎 Strange 🤪 or obscure 🙃 / interesting things...

Genuine question.... is this a case where people claim to have found somewhere that people inhabited ? Like Australia and America?
There is archealogical evidence of ancient human habitation on the islands but nothing for many centuries before the French established a military outposts there in the 18th century, followed in short order by the British who set up whaling stations with the own defensive military garrisons. Essentially at the time of British and French claims to the islands they were uninhabited and unclaimed.
The French did try to establish a civilian settlement there by importing a farming community, but it wasn't very successful. The French farmers were not familiar with the terrain or the climate and struggled to survive. It was too expensive for the French government to keep this fragile community supplied and it was repatriated. When the French left the British took sole control of the islands and declared them British sovereign territory which the French who were the only other nation with a legitimate claim, did not dispute, and to their credit never have to this day.
The British supplemented their seal and whale oil industry with hill farmers from Wales and Scotland who were more familiar with the conditions than the French had been. Supported by substantial whaling revenues they managed to develop a thriving wool industry.
This all happened before Argentina was founded as a country. Their claim rests on the outlandish idea that every territory in south America once ruled by the Spanish should be Argentina's by right as they are imperial Spain's descendants in the region. The trouble is, lots of other south American countries could make the same claim. Argentina asserts that the Falkland islanders are an "implanted population introduced by colonialism" conveniently overlooking that their false claim to the islands by definition makes white Argentinians themselves a colonialist implanted population. By their own logic they should return Argentina to its indigenous people.

Thanks for that as I said it was a genuine question but as an Irish man I still have to call you all a bunch of Guinnesss .. sorry its the law 😆.... just for clarity my lineage is from yous fuckers having to own everything 👀

When I go for a car wash and valet I always leave this on the passenger seat.

I never have to pay and invariably the boss man will come and assure me that everybody working there is legal. I always tell them not to worry as I am off duty.

It also works well in kebab shops

See my posts about empire and globalism in the climate change thread. "We" owned nothing (and now own less than nothing). A handful of elites owned it and got ordinary people to pay for it in slave labour and taxes (ironic that we were the first country to outlaw the trading of slaves in 1807 and the first to introduce enslavement of the indigenous population which has yet to be acknowledged yet alone repealed).
Now the socialists have taken over nothing has changed except the names on the boardroom door. Victorian industrialists have been replaced by WEF globalists and the landed gentleman political class by Great Reset activists and career grifters.
Edit: if anything it's worse now. At least there were some genuine philanthropists among the Victorian plutocrats who demolished slums and built new towns for their workers. Who funded public parks, hospitals, schools and university bursaries. And they paid for it with their own money. Now that legacy is being torn down by the "progressives" as colonialist and replaced with rubbish which the taxpayer has to fund.

Not so different from the English (the ordinary people, not the ruling class). A mixture of Celtic, Norse and Saxon lineage, many of whom also spread out across the world to escape the history writers. Though with the English it's the ordinary people who get blamed for that history, not the winners and writers whose descendants are still in control now.
