Meet the 947 year old face of "Conquest man". This is a facial reconstruction made from the skeleton of a man who lived through the Norman conquest and is estimated to have died and been buried in a village in Lincolnshire around 1079 AD. He was probably a Norman as he was given a privileged burial in a Norman church.
I find these reconstructions of the long-dead fascinating. Oddly, or perhaps appropriately, there seems to me to be more than a hint of Tony Robinson about this bloke.
