I pressume that is where Texas invested heavily in wind farms but many of them froze so the energy system went tits up?
Not the full story, oil, gas, and nuclear also went tits up due to the industries not winterising their equipment and texas having a stand alone power grid, cold temperatures in winter, who'd have thought it 🤔

Texas is 2, 268,580 square miles with a population of 29 million. The U.K. is 94,000 square miles but has a population of 67 million

I think Texas must have a version of Fischer Heat.
The BBC propaganda machine, sorry reports, that some residential customers have received bills for $16,000 for just a few days use.
They are proposing that the state should pay the electric bill.
Given that the average price of a kWh is circa 10 cents... I think they must have railway tracks for cables and someone has parked a car on them!

It'll be the hipsters charging their teslas 🤔

They are at it again 🤷‍♂️

I thought that sounds familiar so I Googled it: that red marker is Mount Getz as mentioned in the report

And yes, it's the region that was reported to be having unusually high and increasing Volcanic activity underneath the ice sheets.

Here's the Volcanic activity profile of the region from a couple of year ago that I saved, I had to spin it 90 degrees to match the Google Maps layout:
