Desmodromically delirious
If anyone is still thinking about going over to the Northwest 200 on 13 May I noticed an ad for cheap flights to Belfast which may be of interest. Once there you just need to hire a car and nip up to Coleraine for cheap day of spectacular racing.

yeah come on you guys!
who else is going this year? I take it you are just going for the day DB? or we could have me up for a  ( hey we need a guiness smilie).

Nicola,

Yes, I'm on a day trip with three other guys. We've found it works well, flying out from Glasgow on Sqeezyjet, sharing a hire car to get to Coleraine, parking it for free for the day, scoffing a huge Ulster fry and Guiness and then walking up to the circuit. We like to walk about the various vantage points, mainly at the southern end of the circuit as it's less busy, and it's so much easier without wearing biking gear. Cost works out at about £50 for the day, which is not bad.

Roll on May 13 ! (I hope none of the racers are superstitious, thoough),

DB

PS how did the exams go ?. Did you cram for your crannogs ?

well just one more to go on thursday - think they have all gone ok apart from the first one.
Who said anything about wearing biking gear? we've normally been there since the thursday and so are just in out normal clothes - mind you last time i was there wha ti was wearing was far from normal... - Black horse finance you horrors!!
this year our house is just behind york corner on the seafront so we're well within walking distance for getting some good vantage points, probably starting at station, but who knows?
hopefully see you there!

I suspect we'll try to do Railway Corner, Mathers, the tight left-hander at the Coleraine end before the roundabout and probably up on the railway bridge just before the speed trap. It's not so crowded away from the coast. We'll keep an eye out for you, though.
