Nope the welding looks @@@@e mate, character or no character and you have your opinion, in mine that welding LOOKS fecking pants, obviously it will be up to the job, I like things that are pleasing to the eye - I have seen nice welding and that is not it, looks like it has been done by @@@@ed up monkeys.

Have you guys not noticed the small inscription on the back of the swingarm

"All welding courtesy of Govan Shipyard , Glasgow"

Govan twinned with Bologna

Probably not Ian, its tricky to weld sheet onto cast extrusion, the metal holds the heat in different ways so tends to end up with a big bulky weld. its possible to do but takes considerably longer. Ultimately its done to a price and Ducati have already stated their goal is to increase margin on SBK series, if the selling price remains the same then the only way that can be achieved is cheaper cost prices on raw materials, parts and labour.

That so called "welding" is just crap! and it takes no more time to do a good weld than it takes to produce sh@te like that:eek:

Was in the shop on Saturday, 2 sat there all ready to go by the looks of them... loved the plate on the middle one S1... :D
Then another goes burbling by outside when i was leaving! So much for being rare :lol2:

Like Ian said, the welding is rubbish. I don't know how much a Tri' costs, but I'd be pretty annoyed on a £7k let alone something costing twice that or more.

Next year I will probably buy a new bike - the 1098 was a possible, but the more I see of things like that the more unlikely I am to buy one.

Mate, that's just not true - the welding is not rubbish! I dunno what you are looking at but rubbish is entirely the wrong adjective to use!!!

If you don't try one of these you will be doing yourself a major injustice.

They are simply fecking SPECTACULAR to ride! I am still getting to grips with it.

I had to run mine in over the last few couple of weeks and i'm telling ye - I was impressed in South Africa but not i'm totally bowled over.

I'll give you an honest answer when we come back from Jerez in a fortnight.

Try one and don't believe the hype!!!

Mart

The hype says they are ace. I believe it. But that welding looks shocking - I don't know how you could possibly say otherwise tbh.

Honestly I have seen both better and worse. But trust me the last thing you are looking at when you see these things is the welding - the whole package is fabulous.

You would simply never regret buying one!!!:)

I was in a few days ago and the bikes look simply stunning. Nothing comes close. I know DG have sold over 50 but I'd be surprised to that many on the road given that DG covers the whole of Scotland and the north of England. I've changed from honda to a 749 and everywhere I go someone asks me about it. It's the whole Ducati thing. When it's in yer head it won't come out!As for the weld when the wheel is on you don't see the weld anyway.
