Hi folks
Just a quickie for some of the Ducati 'boffins' out there, is there any way that I can trace whether the bike I have looked at is a genuine SPS from a VIN or reg no?
It's a 98 SPS race bike I plan to put back on the road, it's HPI clear and still has an intact frame number and he also has reg number from when it was a road bike years ago.
There is no top yoke and plaque fitted as the racer uses a Scotts damper and it's accompanying top yoke, he says he did have the original yoke and plaque but it has been misplaced over the years (aaaagh!). The logbook just says 916 but I don't think 'SPS' was listed as such on the V5 (I may be wrong on that one though?). It has all the SPS kit on it but that's easy to throw on any ol' frame!! It's a good price but I want to be sure it's genuine before I buy.
Any ideas guys/gals?
Cheers ......................... Chris
