:thumbs: As some of you will know, I took the decision to retire the 748 to the track and purchased a track day tank, fairing, nose cone, race seat and fairing bracket etc. Started putting it together today and ran into the following difficulties:
1. No ACU reg belly pan - but Lily and Jon have sorted me out with a contact for that one. Thank you.
2. What a BAST*RD it was getting the light unit off. The Haynes manual is next to useless. Got it all off eventually, left with oodles of wires. But I did find a 'well' nut I thought I had lost 18 months ago.
3. Fitted the race fairing bracket, well almost, one of the bolt holes doesn't line up next to the head stock, will have to drill it out.
4. Fitted the race nose cone, well almost, only one of the 'well nut' bracket holes on the fairing bracket lines up , will have to re drill both or attach a small extension bracket. Don't really want to re drill the carbon air tubes and nose cone.
5. Fitted the clocks no problem, but realised when I tried to put the bike back in the shed that I couldn't get full lock on, so the speedo will have to come off. What do we all use on the road for a speedo?
6. I now have no horn, well no where to attach one if I want to ride on the road.
7. Where the hell do I attach the small sensor thing?
8. Fitted the single seat, well almost, I need the Bip to mono bracket extension thingy.
9. Side panels go on no probelm, well chuffed with that one.
10. Just waiting for my air box to arrive then I can fit both the new tank and airbox at the same time. Can't wait for that one.
Hopefully I can rectify all the above over the next 2 or 3 weeks. By the way it is metalic black with white number boards, and black wheels, I was going for the Goth look.
