Paul, You have touched on a project that I discussed with a few others on here and I have encountered a lot of enthusiasm for it. It all came about because Davie promised to buy me breakfast at Glentress when I got back on a Ducati on one of the threads and ever since I have made it a goal to aim for and help me to get better! The Idea is called obviously:-
'Breakfast @ Glentress'
'Steves' LEGendary annual meeting' (Sub title suggested by Gordon)
It will be at Glentress which is 30 miles ish south of Edinburgh
probably on a Sunday (or a Saturday if a more popular day) July or Aug
It will last from morning until the last person goes home!
It is intended as just a day when the ride there and back home is the only riding done on the day. A ride to St. Marys loch was mooted but I think Gizmo is right in thinking it will only split the group up.
I would like to do a T-shirt with something suitable on the front with the date. On the back, I would like to put every rider and the bike they came on, so it is best you don't turn up on the gixer whilst the Duke is a bit poorley! I would of course find out the cost of said T-shirt and extract a cheque and an address from those that wanted one and post it to you when they were done.
I would also like to put a big red sticker with their name on everyone so that you could all put names (from the site) to faces and not feel embarrassed if you recognised someone but had forgot their name!
So really it is just an excuse for everyone to have a day socialising, a bit to eat and drink and for me to meet and personally thank everyone for keeping me sane!
So Paul, were you thinking of something like this?

Hi Scottch,
I had thought about that and with something like this the day could be a provisional one depending on weather and could be called off a couple of days before if the forecast was going to be iffy and 're-booked' for a following weekend.:thumbs:

Hey Davie, it was your idea! is it the thought that I will be havin a breakfast that you could squeeze in on top of the last one!:D The T-shirt will be a limited edition one and fairly rare!:cool:

Moffat eh? suppose 2008 could be 'Breakfast@Moffat' is there somewhere there along the lines of Glentress? Doesn't quite have the same ring to it that B@G has!

see davie during all steves recovery period, the one thing that has been driving him on, is the thought of you buying him breakfast. you are responsible for this mans well being from now on. nah really he just wants to see you open your wallet .......could be a bigger crowd for that than a harrods sale opening :D

I will get up on the ped all things being equal and have someone bring the MTB in their car :D

It will be when the nice warm weather is in full flow on a Sunday June or July. I am thinking of going up Saturday morning and staying in Peebles so I have a short ride there on Sunday. The whole idea is for us to have a meeting place where everyone can meet :wave: and chat :laugh: and have a cup of :tea: during their own personal ride-out. It will be a big ride for you from sunny scunny as it is 175 miles from Harrogate!
 
Yep, looks good Steve, count me in too! Try to avoid the 21st July cos I'm doing something else that weekend....
 
Hopefully it will be well before that, the hardest part will be picking a W/E that dosn't clash with other things :)
 
You are counted in! even tho I havn't started the list yet! You have missed it because Paul started it and I asked Gizmo to move it to '2007 planning' a day or two later and you were probably out on one of your extended boozy weekends! ;)
