Blue Tyres 2 - return of the once used rubber

for those that followed a previous post of mine on blue tyres. i rode the 999 today with the said blue boys (michelin power race) today at hocknil(ist). no problem, no worries, 60 sub 1 minute laps in the bag. only the usual bucking and weaving under maximum power along the back straight banked over to the left. they are black again! now.......that's magic!!

even better than that......i put my LEFT knee down on the one left hander (other than the chicane) on the circuit. never done than that before.

even better than that (even), i saw and had a wee chat to Berto of long lost fame. he knew that i have a RC8, so he's not been so far away from us. did you all feel the disturbance in the force?

i left early from the track today as usual, no use getting tired and making mistakes is there?

As many have said we knew they'd be fine, just heat cycles thus why tyres warmers are good as they pretty much give the tyre one cycle throughout a whole trackday on and off the track

The last time I rode with blue tyres, my 999 ended up in a skip

Virtually all the track days I did were on blue rubber, either from 'new to me' part worns or blueing of the tyres between trackdays.

If allowed to warm up sensibly they are fine as you have found out Mike a new set of tyres each time out is rubbish, perhaps if you are running at the sharp end of the fast group but for the average trackdayer you should be getting a couple of trackdays at least out of a set of tyres.

Even the Diablos on the DesmoDue racebike blued between meetings and that didn't get new tryes everytime out, just checked the pressures if I remembered and off we go

What you're failing to mention is they were over 12 months old????
