Were you going to take your bike test on a Ducati...................Just a thought...Examiner "next you are going to turn your motorcycle round in the road without putting your foot down or hitting the kirb" Shane "can we do it on the M62"

Unlucky Shane but i hope you were gonna sit the test on another bike cause the 620 a barsteward to do a u turn on, it makes it but only just.;)

your not alone on that one mate, they dont even seem to be announcing it in advance, never mind once you get through it they cant take it back of you ;)

Don't do bike test on me monster, Direct access they call it (not bloody cheap) got to do it on the hired bike instructors bike, kawasaki ez500. alright for u'turns (when a novice like me finaly gets the hang of it :o). ahh one day I will get there :ohwell: oh well back to supermarket carparks

Hi Shane, If you want to do your U-turns without hitting the kirb the easiest way is to imagine a person is standing about two feet from the kirb in the road and as you come round aim for that point. If you look at the kirb as you come round you will hit it! If you practice it with someone there one your 125 you will see what I mean! Good luck!

I did mine on the same Kwak Shane. Bit different to the Monnie and accelerates like a fat pig but ok once your used to it. U turns a piece o pish.
Hated the mirrors. You'll be fine mate, just relax and it'll flow through.

Cheers for the support  :tea: have a drink on me. Steve I dont have a 125 Just me monster, or my wifes motoguzzi breva, The only bike Riding experience I get is what I do in the car parks or what I pay for with an instructor, thats the worst thing about them canceling you test, you do your condensed riding near and close as poss to your test date, so you are all geared up and used to the hire bike, next thing you know you gotta wait bloody weeks for another test date, meanwhile no riding experience (except carparks)

i teach my students to picture a cone in the midlle of the road then to ride round it like it is a pivot point. keep their eyes on it as they do it and its a doddle

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, Gwasshoppaa

When Wendy was learning we went down to a local business park in Harrogate and used the car parking areas to practice the U turn. They were marked out with block paving bricks so you could imagine there were kirbs there without worrying about hitting them. It was also good because there was a lot of roads with no traffic as they were really only linking one carpark to another. Good practice tho and it paid off but it must have looked a bit strange me following Wendy on a Yam125 wearing a Ducati one piece suit and she riding the monster!
