Bike handling training

Went on an i2i training day near York as part of my IAM training for test. Its not a track day but enforces the bits which non-riding gods (like me) missed out somewhere down the line. Various Police Forces send their riders here.

The first demonstration showed how stable a bike is, it's the idiot on top that causes the problems. Doing 60mph, the instructor stood up on pegs and, with both hands on one side of the tank, tried to pull the bike over using his whole body weight. The bike just wriggled abit and carried on in straight line. Pupils had a go with hands off bars.

Other instruction was the science behind bikes, slow riding, counter-steering, hiting a small jump (3 inches high - it felt more) with hands off bars, effective braking to stop (14m to stop from 40mph without reaction time as you knew when to start braking).

i2i also take you off-road to teach you what to do if you skid (change underpants?), etc.

I would thoroughly recommend the i2i training school.
