Right, dunno where to start with this story or how long it's going to take to go through the whole thing or how long it's going to take me to get all the piccies, but we'll give it a bash.

I was at the Catelunya GP at the weekend, I never mentioned it previously as I wasn't sure how it would pan out or exactly what access I was going to get.

Anyways it involves lots of this;

I'll be first to say then "you lucky ba$tard"

did your camera survive after taking that last pic ?

aye, very very lucky barsteward indeed.

Thing is, that last picture might give the impression that I was behind a tape or something in pit lane................ I wasn't

We where given garage access, you cant buy this sort of thing, this really was the best clothes on, non-racing experience I've ever had.

Ever.

I need to add that this only happened due to my contacts being very close to the Factory, this was not normal, and only happens at 1 GP a year. Infact Ducati had to get special permission from Dorna and all our details were passed over weeks ago for security / background checks - things are very organised these days.

Anways, where getting 'money shots' way to quickly here, I'll slow down and rewind.:)

barstewards Lucky Barstewards !!!!

what more can you say apart from Ya Lucky Barsteward!!

nice one

looks like you had a great time anyways

aye so got to Barcelona on Friday did some walking around the city and got very 'merry' on Friday night, think I got about 5 hours sleep, did some stuff that needed to be done and got a lift to the track about 13:00 ish.

It was only in the car I found out we had Saturday box entry which got us into the entertainment boxes above the pits which was nice. When your not racing yerself there’s nowt better than filling yer face full of drink from a privileged view point. Went down to the track to watch GP qualifying but hit the bar in the box for Moto 2

Have to say I love the Moto 2 bikes, 1st time I saw them properly was at Brno last year, would seriously love a shot of one, anyone got a spare £100k for an FTR? Despite the Honda 600 they sound like proper race bikes close up.

Saturday afternoon got pretty good at this point as it turned out as well as 'Pis Box' (snigger) access we also had Ducati passes and Premium Paddock access which got us into the Ducati village for lunch which was very nice. At night time this is where we came back to for an evening meal, normally access is only daytime as the teams don’t open up at night time apart from feeding team members, e.g the Honda set up was straight across the way and was shut all night.

It was a bit bizzare looking down on the crowds outside Rossi's wagon from the pit box area above

Rossi & Hayden's wagons in the paddock, shiney stuff.

had to laugh at night time when we where standing in between the wagons waiting to get into the garage that Rossi's hangers on where coming to the wagon door from inside and flicking their fag ends out down the stairs................ So much for hating cigarette's?
