Back on a Ducati..!

Hi guys

Finally got my 888 put back together today. Yay! I've been riding a H*nda since April 2006, and have almost forgotten what a Duc feels like to ride . All the same, I should have 'er back on the road soon. Here's hoping she runs as well as she now looks.

looks stunning. i do hope this means the RC30 wont be flogged or turned into some show piece and will still be ridden

Really nice Steve, it looks like new, you wanna swap it for a Laverda Monty :)

Oh, I found an MV 750S in Penrith, its in a collection here, I'm trying to get access to take a few photographs, its not for sale unfortunately :(

Er, no! In fact I suspect I'll be putting more miles on the RC this year than the Ducati. Had a quick pootle up the road on the Duc yesterday, and I can't believe how much more 'focused' the riding position is (over the 'armchair-like' comfort of the RC). Duc footpegs felt like they were up under my armpits!

Maybe I'm just getting too old for a 'sports' Ducati!

...what a stunning job and what a stunning Duc, one of my favourites. It looks very much like new, looks like you've either totally restored it or was it always that pristine? ...love it! :)

...what's that spring in the back, is it a Hypro spring or have you had the complete Ohlins shock replaced - Maxton Engineering per chance? (original Ohlins were so damm hard weren't they - both front and rear!)

It's basically just been cleaned Mike/Ed - and some of the fasteners have been swapped for stainless. The photos flatter it a little. I've not done half the job I'd like to have done had I somewhere to work. There are still scratches on the cans etc., and the frame/crankcase have just been 'touched up' instead of professionally coated. It'll be done again though, as soon as I get the space - and properly next time!

(Maxton resprung/revalved the rear shock/forks - to suit my light weight. Spring feels very soft now compared to the original. So too do the forks. Head bearings were replaced too, so I'm hoping it'll handle a bit better).

Would be keen to see the MV photos if you can get access Mike. I'm still awaiting a viewing of the bike I've got my eye on in manchester. We just can't seem to find a mutually agreeable date, somehow. The seller's away on his hols at the moment too. It's frustrating!
