Which carbon parts have you bought, for what bike, who made them, how was the quality, how was the fit, what was the price and if you've had them for a while, any feedback to offer?

Iike carbon as a material but think the look is like gold anodized tat.. abiet not gold. I've lots of carbon on my 748 but its all painted black. Id feel like a chav showing it off and it wouldn't be in keeping with the theme of my bike.
I dont mind the look in moderation, on my 900ss I have front gaurd and clutch cover in carbon but I think it period and complements the yellow paint. Each to their own but I think carbon just for the look is a bit desperate...
On the 748 its mostly dp carbon but some bits from carbon King and another company who's name eludes me right now. All a good fit and according to the chap who painted my bike, nice to work with...

I have bought for my 900ie:

Carbon front mudguard matt (RSR Moto, good quality)

Carbon hugger matt (RSR Moto, good quality)

Carbon clutch cover matt (RSR Moto, good quality)

Carbon heel plates, rider, matt (RSR Moto, good quality)

For the 996:

Carbon airbox gloss (Carbon king, good quality)

Carbon hugger gloss (carbon king, good quality)

Carbon heel plates, rider, gloss (Carbon king, good quality)

Carbon oil cooler cover gloss (Ebay, good quality)

The RSR Moto stuff is really good and perfect fit and a good price.
The Carbon King stuff is really good and perfect fit and a good price.
The Ebay oil cooler cover is good and got it for forty quid.

But it has to be very very good carbon. there is some crap about.
This is all Lieb Speed. Expensive but worth it. Over £1000 just in the belt covers and intake ducts. Don't know where you can get it now.

Upper Airbox - ATR
Sprocket cover - MS
Rearsets - DP
Heel guards - Speed Carbon
Arrow exhaust sleeves
Seat support - MS
V fairing - MS
Fuel tank - Speed Carbon
Swing arm cover

Thinking of likely getting it wrapped at some point, but it’s ok as it is for now until I get some money together for the Speed Carbon seat unit and mudguard

They are just sad. All the styling of a ZX636. Much ado about their limited number and the only Trumpy dealer in my locale has had one sitting about with no interest whatsoever. Nothing to do with Carbon, just a horribly overpriced, underwhelming example of lack of creativity.

I don’t care what people think of me, I love the stuff. Even my wedding ring is black ceramic with carbon fibre inlay.

749 - Intake covers, belt covers, rear hugger, heel guards, clutch cover, solo seat cover, exhaust guard
848 - Termis, intake covers, rear hugger, front mudguard, lower tank side panels, exhaust guard, heel guards, sprocket cover, dash surround (both parts), key guard

Im not ashamed to say it’s all for show because I like it. If I wanted a weight saving I’d go on a diet. Mostly DP I’ve picked up off eBay, but i did buy a job lot of stuff off Carbon Moto Sheffield which has since ceased trading. All matches though so doesn’t look bad.

It looks nice...but unless your income could be altered by 0.001 of a second, what's the point?

I bought a 2 year old Multi that had £4ks worth of carbon on it, for the same price as comparable bikes without. And I got all the plastics bits in a box aswell. When I sold it, I thought about switching the parts back and selling the carbon parts seperately. But I couldn't be arsed...it wouldn't have been worth my time, And the first owner probably thought the same.

Second point - over the last 3 months I've lost approx 15kg - my current bike is an S1000RR...I can't tell any difference in acceleration at all. Nothing. Doesn't feel any faster.

I see used Ferraris with maybe £70k spent on carbon bits...they could get the same parts dipped for maybe £1500.

IMO unless you're a racer, carbon fibre is fools gold
