Are ALL the main dealers rubbish?

Nice of the "experts" in the sales to notify me of that change.

being truthfull here and working for a piaggio dealer, changes like that just come down the line, the first thing you know is when they arrive and your left to tell the customer, think its an italian thing

i really can't fault JHP COVENTRY...brilliant will return to them again even if there is a closer unnameable dealer to Merseyside...I am happy to go that bit further for the JHP pleasure

At times it can be either a win - win or loose - loose situation for dealers with customers and visa versa tbh. It can work for you or against you, depending on the circumstances. However DUK & the Dealers do read these threads/ posts occassionally.

I know that C&J do try to help all customers irrespective of what the situation or request is and at times it just doesn't workout. It can happen with every dealer. Believe you me I've seen these 2 go the extra mile to provide the best customer service possible and even that hasn't been good enough either. Some of the customers have been the most awkward of bar-stewards at times too.

I know from personal experience that these 2 dealers (Ducati Leeds & Manchester) have helped me at times and gone beyond the call of 'good customer service' to achieve it. Maybe other dealers are better at Cust. Service, because they can tailor more to your needs in a way that you'd expect where others can't.

Just my 2P'th tbh

Specific examples please, you can't make statements like that without evidence.

There are others Pete this is just an example. I've know need to provide chapter and verse. As a customer its been witnessed, that alone should be enough!

What more do you want for sweet FA, blood?

as i've said before on this forum,
think it's a bad road to go on spouting bad press on companies/shops

it now looks like you've got for bits, which suggests that that particular shop had a wee problem with supply or delivery
there are many permutations of what caused the delay
The Internet is great for advertising but it's dangerous because lots of people think its gospel
take it easy on the shop, :)

Agree with Johnny here. Yes, let's have some constructive debate on the service from the dealer network in the UpNorth region (they read this forum and that's what keeps them on their toes !) but let's keep it courteous and let's also remember that this wonderful free forum is paid for by the generosity of those same dealers who sponsor its running costs. If anyone has a problem with a dealer then you really should try and sort it out with them first before resorting to a forum rant.

As I'm sure you are aware Pete, the internet tends to highlight the negatives but it actually represents a tiny proportion of customers, I doubt any business could survive if you only used internet / web as a guide! People rarely shout about positive service, why should they? its what one should expect to get not an elusive act. I'm not saying complaints aren't justified nor that the attitude of certain staff in certain dealers meets my expectations but I've found that the way to improve that usually comes by having a quiet word with the owner, most businesses need to know when things aren't being done well. At the same time one also has to allow for realism and expectation, I rarely handle complaints, we've got staff trained to do that, if something ends up on my desk its usually because common sense has failed as there are occasions when customers are simply unreasonable in what they expect. for the odd one if they don't get whet they want they'll hit every forum/social media site they can. Most people now realise this and personally I take little notice of moans on forums. I'm not saying that comments on dealers aren't valid nor that there are times when staff dont perform but its hard to see how any business can survive for a long period of time if they don't deliver to the majority of their customers, it doesnt need those customers to post their positive experiences on a forum !

As a few of you all know I'm in the restaurant business - I have one of the best jobs in the world looking after 8 of the worlds finest pizza parlours  And that's because of the people i work with not all the food!!

All of the restaurant teams are very well trained to deal with any mishaps or mistakes made and make sure our guests keep smiling, those they don't catch i deal with personally - that was 230 complaints last year which sounds a lot but is one of the lowest in the industry given that that represents about 1 complaint for every 10500 people who walk through my doors. It takes on average about 90 minutes to deal with each issue - from phone calls to emails and letters - 230 of those added about 4 weeks work to my diary, however the vast majority of those people who's problem I solved came back into the restaurants and spent more money with us.

We have found time and time again that dealing with a compliant really well, is one of the strongest forms of brand and loyalty building measures we have - people do expect things to go right and often say nothing of the experience - you will always hear of a bad experience as news travels fast and we try and cut that out as quickly as we can be resolving the issue fast. It builds confidence and trust that even when the unexpected happens you can deal with it. How many complaints on this forum are really based around frustration and very poor communication from the seller/dealer.

We also ask 2 simple questions of as many guests as we can - will you come back and would you recommend us to a friend or a family member - get a yes to those 2 and your laughing

Everyone makes mistakes and in the motor trade there will always be problems. Its how those mistakes and problems are handled decides whether you would return to the business again in my opinion.

If the problem is sorted within a reasonable length of time , and without any resistance- i'd always return.

If your constantly lied to, mislead and called a lair because you want what was promised even when you have it in writing, I wont return.

Rang through and put in the order and paid, was warned it might take a week or so.

3 weeks later...still nothing. Just had to get in touch again to ask what's going on. I've been promised the parts by this Friday.

Then on Sun 11th

Well, the parts from manchester never arrived. Will be cancelling tomorrow, pricks.

And Mon 12th

Damn, they finally arrived today, 20 mins before i was gonna call and cancel.

Will not be using Ducati Leeds nor Manchester again.

If they want custom then provide a better service.

You ordered some bolts over the phone which they didn't have in stock and were warned at the time they could take a while to come, they arrived the next working day (Monday) after the Friday that they said they would arrive.

The delay is more than likley the fault of the delivery company than the dealer yet you come on here and slate the dealer in a post to which they have no right of reply or any way of putting thier side of the story.

All this fuss and bad press over a handful of bolts that were, by your own addmission one day late!!!

I'm really glad your not a customer of mine!

In my experience the level of customer service someone receives is directly related to the attitude of the customer!!!

I been using ducati coventry the last few years for parts and ive found there service top drawer.................

Posting date was not the order date. He said it'd be a week or so. It was 3 weeks. They only turned up after complaining, and then not on the (already late) date promised.

Crap service.

How does waiting a WEEK longer than expected before giving them a nudge make me a bad customer?

Waiting an extra week or so is nowt these days Phatty .!.

Go and fit the parts if you haven't done so already and stop :comp2: the dealers .!. :banghead:

Ducati John is a great source of parts and information and just off the the A1/M1 link at Rothwell so easy for us Yorkies to get to. Defo worth a try for bits and his servicing is second to none.
