The RAIN in SPAIN falls mostly in my f@@king Garden!!!!!!!!!

Took my baby to Rocket Center in Blackburn to have a power commander fitted and custom mapped. Man, it wasn't funny!!
Feckin' pi@@ed down all the way, and could have swore there was a conspiracy with all the poxy arctic wagons tryin to run me off the road:comp2:

Gonna enjoy this beer!!

We have a spare room in the inn - as long as you have some Abba & Englebert in your CD collection!!!

Contrary to what somepeople would tell you, we have actually had some good weather up here last week. The problem is the high winds; great for cooling my engine but crap for riding in.
Been out on my Gilera though. I don't mind riding in the wet with it. It's not quite the same experience as the Duc but it's two wheels I suppose. I don't think I told anybody on the forum about this bike yet - great for diving into town for the groceries. Mind you, it's really designed for the testoserone-oozing teenagers of a Roman Piazza. Just look at those red calipers - "...yer like wiiiccckkeedd isit..."

i managed to do over 100 miles yesterday, even though i rode like a big girls blouse it felt good to be back on my 999.hopefully i'll be out again this weekend ;)

been out lately

I got a phone call at tea time yesterday from my mother to say they were at Blackpool airport but had left thier car keys in Dublin and could I 'nip down with the spare keys.'
weather was nice and had a good but slightly windy run down (covered in flies.) I also had a nice run back and the roads were very quite.
250 miles in 4 hours including 2 petrol/ wee stops.
rear tyre is squared off a bit now though.
Top tips :- Use some ear plugs, they are great, its amazing how the noise in a helmet makes you loose your concentration.
Use a Fog city Light sensitive insert - dark blue in the sun and yellow high contrast in the dark - excellent.

...I never ride without earplugs otherwise I have tinitus for hours afterwards, unless I'm testing it after some work - then I need to hear all that aircooled mechanical noice (read music).

Your a good Son !

been out lately

i must be getting old but a few year ago a biker doing 90 mph on the motorway was a naughty lad who needs his collar felt - yesterday i was doing a "reasonable speed" and there were people carriers full of kids driven by mothers on the phone doing at least a ton in the slow lane !!!
I felt positively slow.
Is it me or hs peoples perception of speed reduced !
ABS and air bags and all that - car drivers just dont get it do they !

Weather has been pretty crap here all week, havent seen the forecast for tmrw so here's hoping we'll get out for a wee blast.;)

Not been out seen last sunday - the weather is total boolix up here just now :(

Going out on Sunday though, regardless.

coming out sunday then?

I've used the car 2 days out of the last 9. Went to Scotland last week for 4 days, forecast was crap but maybe my excessive farting created a mini weather system and we stayed relatively dry untill we got back to England.

Been using the KTM though coz its covered in all sorts of crap but sneaked the Duc out on Thursday when the weather burd promised no rain in Manchester.....WTF.... and she didn't lie....so you can trust a woman....occasionally. Off to get my balls chewed for such comments.

BTW, wall to wall sunshine for the next 2 weeks because i'm off to France..(in the car:( )

ive been out commuting a few days back and forward nothing to bad but yesterday it was peeing down and i hadnt closed my outside pocket properly which resulted in my mobile getting swimming lessons im waiting on it drying out, if it does .
but the weise jacket (which i supply) is so waterproof it was holding the water in so i had about 3/4 of a pocket full of water;)

Got out last Tuesday for an hour, quick run to Squires and back. Went out on Thursday for a few hours, Sun Inn for lunch, Squires for a coffee, met up with Vic by accident (Didn't look like girls blouse ridin' to me!). Then out on Fri for an hour just to run the ST. Poor thing has not been out for months, she fired up and ran like a good un tho.
Hoping I can get out for an hour or so this weekend.
Rich

got something i need to do later in the day pete, otherwise i'd be coming along sorry mate

I managed to get out for an hour and a half today, took a run down the A96 to Elgin, had a bit of a thrash against a fireblade but almost lost the front end as I was cornering (damn those michelin pilots!! ), left the fireblade as a little dot in my mirrors. I then got to Elgin, turned round again as a big black cloud started to descend.
On my back down the A96 I saw the same Fireblade in a layby recieving a lecture from 2 coppers in an unmarked police silver bmw 5 series registration number SV05CXN.
I slowed right down to 30mph and took down the reg for my buddies on this site :D  , then I got round the corner and cained it to my Ducati safehouse.

Went up and re-jigged the clutch, then let it run a bit, sat on it, cliked it in and out of gear a few times, all was well.

Went for a run and its ace !

I will try and get out 2moro if the weather is OK, although next door have a party that is in full swing at the mo so will try and not get dragged in !

Me and Sticky left Harrogate at 0700 but didn't bother with the big trip North. Fort Bill was mooted at one point if you recall. Did Hartside for breakfast, we left there at 1000, down over Shap, through Kirkby to home, back just in time for Race One to be ending and the GP from Monaco to start.

Where and when might you be out tomorrow, Ian? I have an invite at 1600 to go down to Squire's.

Nothing exciting and not going to far, need to strip the bike of it breakable extremities then try and speak to Gizmo for me to nip up and borrow his ramp for Wednesday.

IF, I go out it will be just a little bimble down to the bridge I would say, fuel budget will be going in a jerrycan for Oulton !

so many coppers up there gunny !

havnt been stopped yet on my bike, i never even got stopped when i had no numberplate on the bike. . . . standing in the forecourt filling the bike with petrol & a big death star (5 series traffic cops) rolled in behind me, i shat myself as i had No plate, no Tax disc showing, The blackest visor ever & Termi's. i quickly payed my petrol & jumped on the bike expecting them to pull me at least when i started the bike up, ( always Booms in the forecourt) after that i ripped it up the great western road home.

Im going to a "Bikesafe" meeting at Kinloss on sunday morning, hosted by a couple of bike coppers from the Grampian Contabluary, should be interesting:thumbs:

Ive not been to one before so ill make my report on the forum on sunday.
:)

I went into my local cop shop in Dingwall the other week and enquired about this. Can anyone turn up to that event in Kinloss, or is it by arrangement only.
I want to show willing and that I am a responsible reprobate!!! ;)

im not sure as its on the RAF Base but if you give them a ring on 01309 672161 and ask for the RAF Police Flight they will let you know.

cheers chap I'll give them all call. I've got guests all weekend but once I've fed them I will be read for the off (weather permitting that is)

Well ive completed the Bikesafe course today, started at 9AM with road safety lectures, a video made by a lad on an R6 in Cornwall that shows him riding like a complete tw@t around town and in the country, he died 2 weeks after making the video, threw himself into a tree  .
We then had some riding tips, advice etc on cornering, overtaking, hazards etc etc.
In the afternoon we did a 2 1/2 hour ride in a group of 3 + 1 bike cop where we got up to about 70mph cornering, overtaking, basically he showed us how to corner and overtake safely and at a decent speed.
In all I did enjoy it, and after riding myself for over 15 years I did feel that I have learnt somthing, which is basically to "tidy up my riding", make my overtaking smoother, my cornering more stable, and overall think of the hazards ahead such as tractors (w@nkers), diesel, pedestrians and all the nasty things out there that cause so many of us to come of our bikes.
So if asked if it was worth it? YES, definately, and after owning many bikes and riding for many years I believe I am constantly learning to ride better.

The Bike Cop in my group was also a Ducati fan, although he spends all day riding a Pan he says he was seriously thinking of investing in a 999. He also told me that he liked my titanium termi's, he said he was a big fan of loud cans as it lets him know we're coming and gives him plenty of time to get his speed gun out :(

Another moment of amusement for me personally is when we all stopped in a layby on the A96 between Elgin and Keith and as he was giving us some pointers 2 lads came rocketing past on an R1 and a Gixer 1000, the R1 rider sh@t himself and slowed right down as he noticed the plod but the Gixer was going to fast to notice, lucky for them guys the copper was instructing us, otherwise those poor sods would've defiantely been banned today.
