Another Desmosedici on Ebay

SO, it sold for $62,000, what's that in Gordon Brown tokens, about £33,000 ??? The pound is strong against the dollar so I guess it's a reasonable buy. Then of course there is the import hassles and the reduced residual value that this will have, being an import. I paid £37k for mine - so I don't think it's a bargain. It's a "used" D16RR for £33k, which in my mind is a very fair hold on the original selling price.

22 miles on it - so the owner "speculated" - probably not expecting Fannie Mae to fcuk up the financial world, so I would imagine it's a forced sale... Why would you sell a bike with 22 miles on it.... and then be stupid enough to list it with no reserve price ???

Anyway, it's SOLD.

Look like Rex Judd are "realising some assets" judging from the other items on sale.

Lots of classic and collectable bikes, scooters vans and cars, and a very low transaction score, so they don't sell on Ebay regularly.

Just looked at it and noticed his rating - only 50% positive on 11 sales. Does not bode well.

Desmosedici owners need a reality check to be honest. Never in a MILLION years will these bikes be sold for over paid price... not in this economic climate.... and remember, there's STILL new ones out there.

If I was selling mine today... I'd be LUCKY if the price I'd get started with a 3.

Especially as it's got 4500 miles on it - considered a write off by some  :D

Looks like a good un, I'm interested! I note it has the full GP exhaust, sounds aweome!

 I've seen it, it's AWESOME, excellent condition too Gordon, the guy (or gal !!) that had that one certainly looked after it - or maybe they were just a PUSSY and didn't use it. I noticed there was a 1098R in DG too, again AWESOME condition.... I don't know all these high end bikes, never get used, never see a track. We're off to Almeria, why don't you do a deal with Martin TODAY, then head to Almeria with us

i was in DG today (picking up my 999R from a service and a small repair - lovely work chaps and dropping off my desmo for yet another bit of warranty work plus a rear hugger) and saw all 3 beautiful bikes referred to by Stuart lined up "for sale". the desmo is indeed in fantastic condition - except for the stickers which I just can't help feeling look tacky. the only thing worse in my view would be some half assed after market "Marlboro" kid's sticker set off of a 1980's Yamaha 500 GP replica. the current Ducati GP silver bar code se up is a possibility, but the rest........honestly!

anyway................the point of my post is the accessory exhaust a la GP7/8 (rear straight and lower side exit). I know there's been some chat about this on the forum elsewhere. the pictures didn't do it for me and i didn't place an order. why waste £5.5k on something that looks gash even if it adds another 20bhp, saves weight and includes loads of carbon body work? well, now i've seen it and more importantly heard it and i ordered mine there and then. fitted within the week big harry says! what credit crunch??????????????????

the looks are great. the noise is soooo different. not louder. sounds like a twin, like the 1098R. the angrey, attacking bark has gone, replaced with booming thrum. i will kind of miss the attack, but it was anti-social. riding a bike with 220bhp will make up for it. just the titanium engine bolt set to go for now - just think of the weight saving - that or just have a sh1te before climbing aboard.

Mart showed me his 2008 top sales award and 2008 best dealer award from Ducati. well deserved i say. nice to see a local business thriving and getting some recognition for all the hard work. well done to all at DG.

have a nice trip to Spain Stuart. when you get back you might be able to keep up with me and Scott. you pussy!

1) except for the stickers which I just can't help feeling look tacky. the only thing worse in my view would be some half assed after market "Marlboro" kid's sticker set off of a 1980's Yamaha 500 GP replica.

OK 1) the bike is now decaled as it SHOULD be, with the correct livery of the day. :D

2) EXACTLY

3) agreed

4) let's talk about this.... Scott was in front, you were 2nd, I was third... you two got passed the wee orange car, I waited, then went. I was doing XXXmph (on this private road) and still couldn't catch you two.... I didn't go home when the rain started, summary:- PUSSY :D :D :D :D

well i guess i asked for that!
m:)

I still haven't HEARD one Mike to be fair. Scott wimped out on Sunday from a run (I took the D16RR out).... so the verdict of the jury is still out. That said Stevie K has taken his to Almeria, with the new system.... so that will provide the IDEAL scenario, not just the right PLACE for a Desmo, but in the hands of someone who'll ride the bitch as Ducati intended :D :D

I love the roar off the D16RR, yes it might be a tad "anti social", but it's not your Nova / GTI big exhaust NOISE, it's more of a growl, a snarling rabid dog on steriods kind of noise... in fact a noise like NO OTHER.

The GP system... it's just another Ducati noise. IMHO

And the 20hp... yep, like it needs it FFS :D

GP Exhaust....

...sounds a bit like a twin - I agree, it does change the characteristics of the "growl" from the standard exhaust. However once you get it to 6K RPM and above - standard exhaust - yesterdays news!

In a word - "awesome" - just like Casey except a tad slower, well quite a lot slower actually.... :)
