Do anythin for a damsel in distress that boy. Has is good points though;)

It also helps to know the other person's bike......

ie....removal of tank/seat unit etc.....it was a bit embarrasing asking Nic to take off the seat etc coz i didn't have a clue! Anyway.....we were lucky the guy was more interested having a blether than catching on to what was going on! :D

I might be wrong (and I don't know if you've coughed for the premium yet Tam) but Ducati Insurance include AA cover with a lot of their policies!!

Might be worth calling them on 08704 10 60 60.

I'm not on commision by the way!!!:D :D :D

Ducati Insurance charge £20 on top of the fully comp premium for breakdown cover. Their premiums are competitive too.

Funnily enough Martin thats who i've insured the bike through. I'll give them a bell the mora and see if i'm covered and if not just pay the top up as rockjocks said.;)

Hmm, I rang RAC and they told me they wouldnt cover my bikes, didnt even tell them it were a duke? AA have been brill, recovered the duke twice, last time i was in the middle of knowhere, i said to the AA chap "do you know how to to get to Ducati Leeds from here?" he sais, "mate, i know the way to Ducati Leeds from everywhere!"

Clever tw@t

I use Green Flag and have done for years. (was National Breakdown). My fully comp (breakdown) cover costs about £130 per year. It covers me on/in ANY vehicle at any time. My missus's car, my lad's car, both my bikes and my van when I had it. They use local (to the incident) garages and pay them a good commission so the drivers are always prompt, polite, helpful and friendly. Before the days of mobile phones my car broke down and I walked home (about a mile) to call them out. I had a cup of tea, walked back and the guy was waiting with a smile on his face, he'd been there about five minutes after I'd called it in. The main registered vehicle has foreign travel cover, and can be changed over to another vehicle (van, bike, etc) at a moment's notice. When my son got his car we put that (and him) as the named principal and he was covered immediately with no charge. We are all still covered anyway. Stolen/recovered in South Wales, no prob. Stuck in a snow drift in Scotland - no prob, run out of gas in France - small prob but solved quickly. Flat battery at the airport - no prob, stop for gas on way home, still dead battery - no prob. Dead immobiliser on mate's bike in Lakes - said I was pillion, they took him home and I "pillioned" with someone else! - no prob. Can't recommend them enough.

one note on accident recovery, don`t think aa cover free anymore as they recharge insurance company, or poor sod, check first. also think aa now have call out limit, but could be wrong

Yes. Watch out for this. Seems that some of the "recovery" outfits will recover you if you breakdown but you have to pay if it's the result of an accident then recover it from your insurance company and as Ratchet says some have call out limits and will charge you after a certain time like 2 hrs or something.

ive used aa for years a;ways been far better than the rac they always thought of it as a joke from my experience we tried green flag for a year but went back to the aa. they do send you a letter if you have one vehicle breaking down all the time warning you youll have to pay extra if it keeps on happening (had an old nissan) but other than that theyre fairly good and it covers us for the cars and the bike. been very happy with them for a long time, think its cheaper if you do it for your car rather than bike specific cause then its covered as well

Accident recovery in AA is about £150 - for starters. There may be a mileage charge as well.
If you are still in warranty then Ducati assistance will recover from accidents - but you hae to ring them first (i.e. don't call AA and then say "Do you take Ducati Assistance card?")

AA have been pretty good for mine and the trailer (I think it's a Titan) is pretty damn good. Considered getting one of the trailers meself but can't find supplier.

AA - accident recovery

Hi,
After Hamish fell off on the hizzy run he phoned the AA for accident recovery - he looked even sicker. The cost was £110/10mile. In other words it would have cost him in excess of £500 to get his bike home. With regards to the RAC don't break your key in the lock - they consider that as self inflicted and charge some horrendous price to recover your vehicle. I think it's around £150 from what I've been told.
