If its too loud you are too old.:) I saw Giacomo Agostini, return to the TT course in 1991. He did a lap in the parade of honour on a 500cc 3 cylinder MV Agusta.,
A mate of mine in Plockton had a Benelli sei the exhuasts had rotted through so he took a hacksaw to the silencers and cut them through the centers that was loud not the best sound but loud.

I don't feel so bad about the Akra 60mm system that was fitted to my last 996 now, positively sociable compared to that un!

My fav is the fantastic roar on the over-run - bloody awesome noise :cool:

The baffles in most MV pipes are quickly removable. There are only three self-tappers to each 'silencer'. I've not run mine without baffles, but she's more than loud enough any way :o. (..louder from the saddle than even my old 888 SP was!)

I recorded this video yesterday whilst testing out a new action camera. Microphone is in a separate back-pack, so misses all the lovely - but painful - induction noise.

That was a max of about 5,500/6,000rpm in the video Bruce. It's a flexible engine, making power enough to pootle around on from maybe 2,000+rpm, but it comes properly 'on cam' at 6,000rpm & pulls to around 9,500rpm. (It's quite high geared for a four cyl. 1,000rpm equates to 16mph in fifth).
 
As much as I like ACDC....why, why, why do people put drowning music over videos that are music in their own right.........................hopeless and kind of spoilt the first MV vid for me....

As for Steve's vid...Lovely and not a hint of Bon Scott in sight...........
