848S - real or photoshop?

I'm hoping this photo from a US site is a photoshop job. The 848S is due for launch very soon but I can't believe Ducati went with this paint scheme ...

Almost certainly photoshop jobbie - rehash of an old picture with the white livery ...

Maybe it's me, but that scheme would look more at home on an R6 ! I actually like it, just not on a Duc .....

Guys I have been assured (and I hope I don't look silly after saying this) that Ducati did have plans for an S but they have been shelved, period.

Maybe i'll be proved wrong!

Inside of a late model 08 fuel tank, notice the models it'll fit ?? I ain't checked the California emissions certification notices yet to see if its homolgated for US

That pic was in MCN before the 848 was released. It's hardly fresh.

From what I am told it has been shelved for a long while. Frankly the pic of an underside of a tank doesn't really prove anything to me at this stage. Even if it is an '08 model. I've seen hundreds that all look like that!

I wouldn't expect tooling and a moulding to be changed just for that - but we'll see if I am being told porkies or not soon enough!

yeah, it would be rather expensive to remold all the time so it makes sense to list all the models at the start. It'll only be a few weeks till all is revealed ( to us anyway) US dealers have already had their launch ( and I'd assume UK) so I'd expect that if they've said they have shelved it, it has been.
 
I'd be a bit miffed if they did bring out an 'S' with Ohlins front and rear and a bit of carbon bling :mad: - that is unless M&S gave me top dollar on a trade in.:D :D
