Hi, apology accepted Dullard. I was trying to post a classified but was not aware it's $10 to post. How do i send the funds and to whom?
Click on your account, then account upgrades - it's £6 GBP for the year to become a subscriber, or £5 for 2 weeks...
This gives you full access to the Forum and you can post stuff for sale...

:)(y)

There is no charge to post Jeff and welcome. We have only one real rule and that is if you want to sell an item and see more of the forum that's behind a paywall then a subscription of £6 is required.

If you wished to go forward then at the top right where it shows your name, click on it. on the right hand side of the drop down is account upgrades, click on that and follow the instructions, quite easy.

As to your sale, pictures and details often help before messages start clicking on emails. We do have one or two U.S. members but import and tax charges make your sale unlikely, but not impossible, will happen to a U.K. member

Is it not obvious? @AirCon is speaking for you in promoting the initiation ceremony in order to scare people off. You only have to look at the statistics to see the ratio of guests and members online!

I wonder how many think, "No, not for me. Look at the stick hat I will get! And the members seem quite proud of the stick that they can give out - while studying Thermodynamics!"!
Chill Perry. Most of the stick is typical blokey pisstaking and any stick Everclear got was well deserved. There are some serious disagreements but usually on serious topics like Russia & Ukraine and regardless of that this place strikes me as a happy family where people will disagree or argue but support and help when the shit hits the fan.
I`m sure I speak for us all when I say none of us speak for anyone but themselves on here but in your possible defence you may well be mighty pissed off that the parties dealing with your claim have had easy access to your posts. So what , fuckem. You seem to me to have posted facts and future plans so hardly anything to be used against you.

Who made you the Duke of Sox, fella?

Goat I hate you.

Good post, btw 👍

The 'regulars' may well realise that it is all "blokey, pisstaking" but new members may not.

I accept that I may be a bit overly sensitive - not because my claim has been blown out of the water, but just because I now know how this place looked as a new member If you are supposed to pay to advertise a bike, then it should be crystal clear. I haven't investigated further but if an ad is put in the wrong place, then a gentle, private nudge as to how to do it right, wouldn't' harm anyone.

The claim is not affected by anything here. It just seems to have been hit by a judge-induced malaise. This shows the plus side of "no win, no fee". Technically, it is my brother's case and he would/could be responsible for any fees if we back out, but I don't need to back out as there is nothing to back out of. This will just drag on and on for years. It is only my solicitor's office that lose out, because their fees are paid for by the other insurance company at the conclusion. She also takes a fifty grand "success" fee from my settlement. Hardly a worry as there is no settlement in sight. Nowhere near.

That illustrates the problem that you just do not get! "if you thought that was hostile he isn't going to last long here." - So, it is now a "competition" with rules set by YOU, is it? And that is the issue. It is supposed to be a forum for bike enthusiasts, not "Let's all see how much shit that a new user can take in their "initiation" before we accept them in!

Personally, from the hassle that I've been through, I give not the shiniest shit if it all fails, but I assume that there are those, like moderators, who do care. All I am trying to do is nudge people to be a bit more tolerant and civil. Fine, if you don't want that and I guess you think that you are speaking for all here.

I left the other place because I didn't feel very welcome - rightly or wrongly. I am getting ten times that vibe here. So it is not a group of bike enthusiasts, as it was set up to be, but now a toxic culture of survival. It may come as a surprise to you , interrupting your study of thermodynamics, but many people really don't need the hassle. Nobody has to come here. . . . . . And many will see the "welcome" that others get and think, "No, not for me!".

Judging from what I've seen here, today in the "introduction for new members" area, my guess is that many will visit and then think, "No, not for me!".

Better than wasting time finding out if it's not for you...like before paying the subscription.

Good Morning! I thought you might like to look at a few of the bikes i've restored in the past. The Z-stripe was a GT, i used to be able to find GT's for under $1K back in the 80's, nobody wanted em.

Hi, I'm a new member from Iowa USA, looking for a serious buyer for my 1973 one owner Sport with 1231 original miles. If interested my email is itlbkguy@gmail.com
Jeff (if you’re still here), I missed this thread otherwise I would have jumped in sooner. Apologies for some of our members but it’s a sad fact of the internet that if someone joins a forum or a Facebook group and their first post is a for sale item it’s generally a scam. You can perhaps understand why you got some of the replies you did.

We have a classifieds area and welcome bikes for sale but we do insist the seller is a member which helps to support the forum. It’s a relatively nominal sum of £6 GBP and cheap compared to most other sites that provide sales. We’re not a commercial venture, hence no adverts, just need to cover our costs.

Posts #31 & #32 above explain how to subscribe. Once done, I’ll move this thread to the classifieds section and tidy it up for you.

Thanks! Let me get some updated pics for the classifieds, might take a few weeks as i need to figure out how to upload from my wife's smartphone. I'm kind of a low tech guy.

Just access the forum using your wife’s phone. Start a new thread (or go to post in an existing thread) and click the Attach Files link bottom left. You’ll be offered the choice of selecting from the photo album on the phone, or using the camera to take a photo or uploading a file from elsewhere. It’s all quite intuitive.
