1098 Wow

Just got back from the factory last night with a few customers, some 1098 customers, the S sounds awesone with standads titanium on exhausts, as each one is taken in dyno, test room, in fact if you have not been it is great to see as every bike goes through this final process. It was soon up to 190 KPH and the noise down shifting was awesome. We found a couple of UK bikes near the door ready to be crated up then I saw a tiny bike under some bubble wrap, the GP7 looks like a 250 !!!

We will be going agin in Feb.
 
That's my second this year, you will appreciaite the bikes evn more when you have been. It is certainly an experiance. Through the club and two World Pres. Meetings I have met lots of people. The people I took really enjoyed it and we had a lot of fun.
 
Thats becaus there is a BMW and Harley in your garage, only those pure of heart are allowed to enter............

Oh. I knew there had to be a reason!

The small fact of a 999R must cancel out those two minor indiscretions surely??

Factory Visits

We positively encourage Dealers to take Customers to the factory for a look round.

The Museum is open all day and trips around the production facility take place twice a day. You do need to book that part of the trip as spaces are limited. It never fails to amaze me just how "open" we are as a manufacturer.

Flights to and from Bologna are not expensive, hotels are close by that get used by Ducati staff, you could end up bumping into Troy Bayliss at the breakfast table.....it's happened before.

Just badger your local dealer to get one organised ;)

The factory only makes our bikes more special, you just do not realise how they build those things with pride until you actually see it, whilst dodging fork lift trucks. Just watching the new engine being built on e one line and the Sport 1000S on the other.

The party was also good, the alcohol flowed freely, the plane being delayed then re-routed via Milan was a pain but we had the chance for another beer, a quick phone call and the factory had us booked into one of their local restaurants and met us at the hotel to take us straight to restaurant. I am pretty sure that this would not happen with any other manufacturer.

yea i doubt anyone else would do that.

it was the same when the desmosedici was at Glasgow, what other manufacturer creates that kind of buzz & gets that sort of attention.

We will plan to go again, Jan/Feb next year, it is of course also WDW next year also. Get Christmas over with and I will start to plan again.
