1098 Delivery

Anyone had a delivery date for a standard 1098 yet? I ordered mine end of last year and have just heard it could be June before I get it! I'm a bit gutted, I expected it quicker than that.

Like what?????

And please don't say a Desmo!!!! Because like the unicorn and the mermaid it is pure myth.

I do however have a poster and a letter from Tim Maccaroon at Ducati thanking me for my order. Lets hope everyone concerned gets the finger out because the way its looking any delivery will be getting wheeled out the crate in time to grace the Christmas window decoration at a Ducati store near you!!

You've never seen the mermaid riding the unicorn??

ffs Ian, you need to complain to the A&E department ASAP, that's a completely sub-standard service you've received! ;)

I heard the 1098s Tricolore's were built, however Ducati were waiting for the Gold wheels which some scouser had borrowed unexpectedly... NAH only joking I think its down to Ducati supplying and demanding.... AS usual...

Be patient it'll be worth it mate... Ridden 1 and loved it...

Yep a mate of mine has had his delivery date put back, he was PROMISED it for 1st March delivery - I think some porky pies have been told !

Production is running well behind in some areas due to extremely high demand, which has caught everyone out.

On the subject of deliveries / production. In my experience customers (members of the public / dealers alike) occasionally interpret things incorrectly. When we state March build that can mean anytime during the month of March. It could be the very start or the very end of the month. Occasionally people interpret "March Build" as being "promised delivery for March 1st"

We are a small company that happens to produce the most exciting bikes on the planet (IMHO). They are primarily handbuilt and we are simply just not able to knock them out "Jap fashion", I wish sometimes that we could triple production capabilities over night, everyones job would become a whole lot easier. We are trying our best!!

Can we go and collect then? ;)

I got so fed up with waiting for my Ducati that I built my own!!!!! :D

sorry, I know it must be bl*ody frustrating, but poor old Luigi is working his hardest to get them out to you guys. All good things come to those who wait!

Nige as ever gives the manufacturers point of view which always gets overlooked.

At least it's coming before summers out unlike some people's bikes they've ordered

Yeh I know I shouldn't be ungrateful, I will look forward to getting 1098, I was just a bit disappointed at delivery date and also wondered if dealer was being honest to myself and Ian Greener. Although Ian should have his 1098S any day now if M&S will sort him out a part ex deal if they have still not sold his 749R.

Ah! The 999R has its uses once again!

No waiting list.
No delay.
No waiting for it to arrive.

No value!:(

999r

no value? - bugger. my plan whilst i wait for the Desmo is to give the 999 a good tatering this summer and then use as a track day tool from 2008. better than chipping it in now for next to nothing!
