Good morning gentlemen and no I've not gone to the dark side !! A very good mate of mine bought a 1260 multistrada about 6 months, this week he decided to treat her to a new set of tyres but has just discovered the front wheel has a very bad rim dent and the shop can't get the new tyre to seat, they would rather not use the wheel regardless.. so a big ask but has anyone got a 1260 front multistrada wheel or maybe know someone who does ? Thanks the Skitz
 
Does the 1260 MTS share its front wheel with any other models? It will make a hunt on ebay (which is your best bet) a lot easier.

The 1200 Multi shared its wheels with certain Monsters; the late 1200s had different wheels to the earlier Multis. Are these later ones the same as the 1260? If you can work out which parts were interchanged with which models there's sure to be one out there. Typically about £200 for a single front wheel by the look of it.

There's several other models with which it's only one digit different. It's possible other wheels may fit but not look exactly the same. Worth checking with a dealer. @Nelly ?

Not saying these wheels will fit but both sellers seem to shift a fair few wheels. It might be worth contacting them to see if they can't source a wheel rather than waiting for one to pop up on ebay.

Doesn't necessarily mean that wheels from other models won't fit though. A single digit different in the part number may mean a different spoke pattern while the hub machining is exactly the same. Not saying that is definitely the case with Ducati but all big manufacturers use modular parts platform to some extent so they produce parts for multiple models from the same tooling and take advantage of the economy of scale. The tricky bit is finding out which parts are interchangeable because you can be damn sure the manufacturer won't tell you. Can't have people going off and buying used stuff off ebay when they could be bent over for a new part they didn't necessarily need...

There is a place in Kent that repair them. They are very good.

Might have to look them up myself. My Streetfighter rear rim has a dent. Whether it was a stone strike on the road or a ham-fisted tyre changer I don't know. Doesn't lose tyre pressure but it's unsightly and must affect wheel balance.

Mine's a weird one. It's not where the rim meets the tyre that's dented, as from a pothole strike, but on the inner surface of the rim that faces the hub. It's as if it's been struck with something from above. I'm suspecting an idiot with a scaffold tube on a breaker bar trying to crack off the wheel nut. I've always managed to get it loosened with my 240v impact driver (450nm). But who knows what tyre fitters get up to when you're not there.

Jameson Engineering in Bishopthorpe, York are one of the countries best known wheel specialists…

If you are going to quote, then quote the whole post.

You omitted - A wheel from another model may fit but you need to consider brake disc spacing, ABS tone rings, and wheel spacers

It may be possible to use a bare rim from the following -
  • Monster 821 (2018–2021)
  • Monster 797 (2017–2020)
  • SuperSport 939 / 939 S (2017–2020)
  • SuperSport 950 (Base model, 2021–2024)
  • Hypermotard 950 (Base model, 2019–2024)

You would have to strip and reuse the following off the original rim
  • Brake Rotor Diameter & Offset: The Multistrada 1260 / 1260 S uses massive 320mm or 330mm front brake discswith a specific mounting offset. Models like the Monster 797 use 320mm discs, but models like the Monster 821 or Hypermotard use different disc alignments or carrier bolts.
  • Axle & Spindle Sizing: While the front axle diameter (25mm) is consistent across these models, the wheel spacers(left/right collar thickness) differ significantly between the Multistrada's wider front fork pitch and mid-sized naked bikes.
  • Phonic Wheel / ABS Sensor Ring: The Multistrada 1260 uses a specific phonic wheel ring and sensor clearance for its cornering ABS system. Transferring a wheel from a Monster 797/821 may require you to swap over the phonic ring and hardware from your original 1260 wheel.

No guarantees it will work.
I am assuming the 5xY as opposed to the 3xW style wheel.
 
I did see this second hand one in Italy but the last letter of the code is a B. When you put that code in, it comes back as a 1260 ?


My own preference however would be to find a wheel refurbisher as local to you as possible with a good reputation and get the wheel refurbished there

I'm sure someone told me about this in regards to the long links. everything from the question mark does this;

  • Tracking and Analytics: eBay adds hidden codes to see how you found the item, such as whether you clicked an ad, arrived from an email, or used a specific search term.
  • Session and Referral Data: The URL often remembers your exact location, language preferences, and marketing campaign identifiers.
  • Embedded Item Details: eBay often includes the product's title and category numbers directly in the text string of the URL to help internal servers
So the easiest way to avoid all that shit is to highlight the question mark and everything that follows it till the end,and then delete it.

Example on the Italian wheel I posted with the question mark and everything after it deleted

The fella with the 1260 is in no way intelligent enough for a fraction of that 😀😆
