Magnesium Marchesini, are they worth it?

I'm wondering about fitting a set of Marchesini magnesium wheels to my 916. It's only a very fair weather bike and only gets ridden a few times a year. I spend more time working on it than riding it but do like to buy myself presents for it when money allows. It is fitted with alloy Marchesini 5 spokes at the moment and I was wondering if magnesium wheels are worth it, do they make that much difference? I know they are high maintenance but I am willing to get them checked over before fitting them. What do you think

For when I was riding, I can't say they made any difference. For spirited road riding I can't say they made a difference. For track where some bow to the altar of weight saving, I often saw big old chunkers track riding where losing a stone or two ya fat fucks would have made a bigger difference.

So for me, if the bike I was buying had them fitted and I wasn't over paying then cool, but I wouldn't miss them if they weren't fitted.

They will look nice until the first British pothole 🤔😁
You may or may not notice the difference, I would guess not but if you want the personal psychological boost go for it 👍 life is too short for ally wheels 😁
