What have you done on your bike today?

Today i went to fit the drag bars to the Harley, wrong, all the switch gear wiring is fed through the bars!! Fucking minefield that job, i've done it before so i concluded i'm just going have to get used to em!! :) Then i went to fit a side stand extender because it's a Guinness to find but the exstension sticks out more. Tried that and my drill bit set is shit and would struggle to go through cheese, nevermind ordered some new carbide ones. I will send all the other bits back for refund, I then spent my time going over the bike and taking all the bling off that i can sell on ebay. I sprayed some bits black and i must admit it looks much better.(y)

I left Hitchin early this morning, taking great delight in knowing I must have woken on particularly unpleasant neighbour. I filled up in Luton. I was machining good progress til I got to Heathrow on the M25 when out of the blue the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. The engine warning light came on along with orange flashing lights on either side DWC showed an error a warning triangle lit up and the abs light the cruise control wouldn't work.
I pulled over and turned it off and the turned it on again and it appeared OK so I rode off slowly (yes I can when I try) and it all went tits up again. I limped on very cautiously until I reached Fleet services where I pulled in to investigate, I had a hunch and thankfully I was correct

The battery terminal had come loose, after tightening it with a pair of pliers all was well except the engine management light was still on. I rode down to Snells who were just opening when I got there, they directed me to the coffee machine whilst they rolled the bike into the workshop deleted all the errors etc. and sent me on my way gratis. What a great bunch! When I got home (with the fuel light on,😎 (it was a good ride)) I phoned them and booked in for my third Desmo service.

Customer service can be the best or the worst PR.

I hope your mum is ok Hugo? And full marks for waking up the neighbour 😁

So brief outline of Portimão! It didn’t start well as when I got to the circuit on day one my bike was virtually on its side on the stillage and someone had decided to put a ratchet across both bikes!! Result! A marked wheel, broken fairings and deep scratch on carbon heat shield! I expressed my displeasure 😉 Anyway it was a good trip in the end, some seriously fast guys there and I was riding a bit tight after a good few years lay off, pootling around doing 1.58s mate was doing 52s and the fast lads were late 40s! The bike behaved faultlessly and despite a few late braking hops and skips felt totally planted! Thinking about going back at the end of the year and pushing it properly and see what she’ll do! Best thing about the whole trip though was I managed to squeeze into my leathers👌pics attached

Good time on a standard bike after a lay off. 1.52s is very quick and would normally have you at the top of fast group on a NL trip.

Today was a public holiday in nz due to anzac day but i emded up working up the road for a lil old lady for most of it. Best part was i didn't even make any money!
Anyhu when i hot done at about 2pm i couldnt be arsed getting the tools out to work at home ( which was the plan for the day) so i had a few beers and made steak pies.
Best ones yet i think.. b says they are but she'd had a few beers as well..
