Well it is quite hard to write this but...........

It is with great regret that I will be leaving Ducati Manchester at the end of March, I am sorry to the guys I work with and to the many customers but obviously I will still see them all, what can I say, working week ends and then doing Ducati related stuff on my week ends off is not working with my homelife.
I will still be at the store to help on busy periods and also liked the Classic week end that I would still like to do the Superbike week end. I would like to say thanks for all the support from everyone. I will now see you soon at rideouts !!!!!!!!!!!

Well done for doing what you have in re-establishing Ducati Manchester to the North West Ducatisti, your Classic Weekend was a credit to you as was the service I have had from you in the short time you have been there.
Not sure what you are planning for the future but with your enthusiasum, you should go far.

Good luck Martyn !

Martyn that's a real shame, I really thought that DM had turned a corner with you at the helm but I do fully understand where you are coming from week in week out working weekends is going to take it's toll on anyone sooner or later.

So what you're really saying is you've been demoted to cleaner then? :p

Dam the secret's out, can you see the mop and bucket, you will all see me, probably more, I can come on here and say what the hell I want now, again !!!!

I will also be able to go to the Yorkshire Rumble thingy and whatsit. I will also organise rideouts etc etc etc.

I am happy but also not if that makes any sense.

ive spoken to martin @ DG on several occasion's & he's told me that it is his dream job that he is doing but it is real hard work, it isnt just 9-5 & if youve got a family to contend with as well then i dunno how you could do it, hats off to you for puting your family first m8.

GL with what you do in the future.

That's a real shame for DM but I can see where you are coming from. I know we are irritating and annoying, but we were starting to get back into the store more now you are there and it's a shame you won't be there going forward.

But the plus side is you can now come out and play with us :)

Good luck in whatever you are picking up next.

Ta, Claire, I will organise some rideouts from the store probably with the Chesire lot and of course other customers..

I don't actually know you Martin or indeed if you have a family but I was offered a really good job with plenty of money, holiday home on the Med. etc two years ago but it involved a lot of travelling and working weeks on end. The only problem (and it's not a problem) was I have a family and I want to see my kids grow up and there's no money worth that. I don't have a lot of money but I have enough to make me happy. So I declined. Good luck with whatever you do. (they do drive me mad sometimes though !)

I'll PM my number pass it on to them, many thanks ;)

That's a shame. We spoke at RTL and you seemed so optimistic. Family (and life) does come first however, regardless. Perhaps it was too big a step, too soon. Oh well, see you on rides. Have fun, hope it all works out. :D

The secret was out last weekend when I spoke to the chief and I couldn't believe it! They won't find a better replacement but you deserve better, hopefully see you soon!

Thanks all,

Seen on a rideout near you, and now not on a 1098, S4RS, GT1000, Sport 1000, Hypermotard :( :( :( , 999 etc etc I will have to make do with my 748 and 600 Monster. Oh well.

Anyway

Where are we heading Good Friday ????

dunno about good friday yet. Jon's work is changing and looks like he is on call almost constant for a bit so will have to plan around that where we can.

Damn shame Martin. DM obviously don't know what they will be missing, good luck with your next venture. You are doing the right thing sir.

Yep working all four days over Easter now, apart from the money I do have to question why I do this job

Martyn, i'm very sorry you're leaving, you've breathed fresh life into a corpse.

However i can understand the amount of time you've put in is above and beyond the call of duty, and the family must quite rightly come first.

Good luck with whatever you do.

cheers

Shaun.

Hi Martyn,

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, I understand the pressures and difficulties etc. I have recently left working in Blackpool as travelling and work left no playtime, rest or family time as it were.

Hopefully I'll get upto 1 of the meeting at the Red Lion 1 day, tried to get to the last 1 but didn't make for too many reasons. I agree with a few of the threads already written that DM was turning a corner (sometimes slowly) with you there and I had returned for a few bits & bobs from time to time and too occasionally bump into my pal Ben in the workshop. The place won't be the same without you. The classic weekend was really good fun hoping to see the Superbike weekend 1 day.

Best Wishes and Good Luck, see you soon..

Hey, all the best Martyn. I never made it to DM but as someone already said here, you were really looking forward to taking over there. Sounds like you made a huge difference, I hope your successor can continue what you started.

See you at Harrogate then!

Tough call Martyn, obviously you have your reasons and you've gone your own way. Best of luck with the future ventures, like everyone says family first.
Not forgetting though that DM's turned round and now looking upbeat. The staff in there seem much more approachable than a few years ago, let's hope they too see it as new ventures and targets, best of luck to 'em.

Are you going to have a passing out parade?
