We love a bit of culture @Dukesox towers and amongst other things this year we have been to see Jan Akkerman, Steve N seagulls, Nina Conti and off to see Jimoin this weekend.
Most excitingly we have just booked tickets for the Big One ! That`s right boys n girls, it`s panto time. Oh yes it is. We are taking the grandchildren to Jack & The Beanstalk at the Eric Morcambe Theatre in Harpenden just after Christmas.
It doesn`t get any rockandrollier than that does it.

Beat that you Mofos.

You are one cultured mfer, Sox.

I remember going to see " An accidental death of an Anarchist" at the Windwill theatre in London in the 80's. By the end of it I thought, ffs you could have summed it up with a Russianesque tweet that would have taken one post. Bloke is pushed/jumps out of a high rise window. Discuss.

A word to the wise, Listening to a Tchaikovsky evening at the Royal Albert Hall with a girl whose favourite saying is "Just do me up the back", is not a good use of money or time.

Jimeoin is in Lancaster in a few months, might go and see that.

Not being a cultured type such as yourself Duke, an ex girfriend many years ago took me to The Rocky Horror Show. I knew nothing about it or what went on at the shows, but when I found out a few minutes in, I excused myself to go to the loo, but decided to go to the bar instead and ended up doing lines with the bar tender for the rest of the show. She wasn't best pleased when she found me during the interval. Or when I stayed there during the second half. Or when I didn't have any left at the end. She wasn't a goth type...a weird night.

I`ve seen Jimoin a few times and it`s always been a good night out. It`s not side splitting stuff just gentle observational humour. Well worth going IMO.
I also took an ex, well she wasn`t at the time , to see The Rocky Horror Show. It was ok but nothing special and I couldn`t see why it was so hyped up. Still better than Listening to a Tchaikovsky evening at the Royal Albert Hall when you are with a lady practically begging you to take her to see Carry On Up the Khyber Pass though.

They used to have a midnight showing of the Rocky Horror at the Hollywood theatre in Avondale, Auckland. If you went prepared it was more fun. You needed, a water pistol, some rice, some toast and a newspaper. And you needed to know, or found out, when and how to use them. Proper good laugh

Still showing it.. not as regular or at midnight though. 8.00 on a Friday night. Never went but know loads that did, b lived just around the corner from the Hollywood.
you could take ya own booze in.
Got pretty messy by all accounts. I went to a screening at the Westside cinema and it seemed everyone there (except me) knew all the words, well, the alternative words and talked over the movie, it was hilarious!

Thought this should be a culture topic, aesthetically pleasing or not, debate

Wow, that is beautiful! Haven't seen anything like that before!😁

Don't like it. Exige's push-me/pull-me motorbicycle actually looks better. You might not have any idea until you set off whether you're going to go forwards or backwards but at least you can see the engine at it's not all black plastic. That's too plasticky. The H2 engine looks quite good for an I/L four and you can hardly see it.

That's a silly statement as mine is the most aesthetically pleasing bike on the Forum  so much so members who love it pretend to dish it just so I post pictures for them to drool over. Far nicer than a Bender Replica which is only just above an MTS 1000
