Sport Classic in USA

Is it nearly bedtime?
Spotted a 2006 bike advertised by dealer on fleabay in USA, brand new for $9000. Presume they are clearing out "old" models but at £4500 seems a stonking deal. The exchange rate at present must help but even so....

Sounds good Stewart until you add import duty, VAT and the cost of shipping it over! best wait til some is desperate to sell one on fleabay here, that Corsaro went for £5500 Good for the buyer crap for the seller

Steve, wasn't thinking of importing. I had toyed with importing stuff from the States in the past but as you say the import tax plus the vat plus transport costs usually don't make it feasible. I know the dealers here are/were offering free Termis etc to shift stock but still way adrift of £4500. I am seeing 2006 bikes with low miles coming up now at £5500 and that price may drop as the season gets under way. Why didn't you buy the Corsaro? When you get back on a bike again you'll wish you had!..

I would have bought the Corsaro but I didn't have quite enough! I had thought about paying him in instalments as he was after £6500 min for it,Then I would either have to buy new leathers or ride it with 'Ducati performance' on my leathers!

Anyway how about THIS for a buy, tho I don't think it's a steal!

Lovely. Price is probably ok if you are a collector and putting it into a museum etc but as soon as you use it it is just another low mileage bike. What I noticed was his (her?) collection of bikes seems to be kept in the bedroom! Not only that, they are all chained up to each other!! That's what I call a high crime rate area!
